This is something I've struggled with my whole life. Not even just within my life as an artist, but also with EVERY other passion and hobby I have (which is a great many things). I've always felt really overwhelmed, feeling that I'm never going to get to everything I want to, but then because of that never starting a project. I feel like it's both a blessing and a curse. I personally use "Notion" and it has been a game changer and has really helped me get organized with my ideas and projects. I really love your ideas and advice! You always organize your videos so well! ❤

Thank you!!! ADHD by any chance? Starting projects and not being able to finish is my M.O. But lately I have so much bouncing around in my brain, I can’t even start. I love your ideas!

Honestly one project a time is very important, I decided to do many projects at the same time because i believed i was behind but now I stopped. I feel every project there is something you take and move it to the next. No need to rush, no pressure 😊

Hi Mimi! Thank you so much for all your videos, but this one seemed to be very timely. I’ve drawn every day for the last 2 years and my progress has been amazing, but in the last month or so I just stopped. Not one illustration 😳 I think I was overwhelmed with the reality of making it my full-time business. The ideas are still constantly flowing and I miss not drawing, but something is holding me back. This is the first art video I’ve watched again during this slump. I feel less scared and more inspired again having watched this and you deserve to know you make that kind of impact on people. Again, thank you. Love your work 😊❤

I freaking love this! Even if I don't draw/illustrate things, this feels like exactly what I needed going in to 2025 when I'll be starting to write an idea I've had for years and years, but never actually started for real. I just tried Milanote, and it is everything I could have ever wanted/needed but never knew I wanted/needed. It's like a braindump but without it feeling messy and like it doesn't lead to anywhere. Thank you so much for making this, it feels like you've made my life so much easier than it was before ❤

Too many ideas, too much brain art block😅 I tend to be afraid to showcase my works Despite having many empty sketchbook, I did more creative idea lists in Milanote or note apps than drawing.

Oh man I have so many art ideas that there's some ideas I thought of nearly 15-20 years ago and the annoying part is...I still want to do them haha! One of these days I gotta make a master list of every idea and put them in categories. Thanks for the suggestion!

What a great video, thanks so much! I love how you made a fun mini project out of organizing your project ideas. And the intro had me laughing; kindred spirits!
@arosetАй бұрын
This is a great video thanks! Love the pots idea. Wanted to add an extra element for the organizing part, I initially categorize my ideas as "fleeting" or "permanent". So many ideas, and only maybe 15% make the cut after my interest dies off so they move into the "permanent" category once I've given it some time. Normally I'll know in about 48 hours 😂

Hi Mimi, my name is Mimi too! I teach crafts twice a month to 30 students in a 62 years old and over (4 locations) community for a living, just part time. I have to come up with ideas that don’t use a lot of hot glue, because because they aren’t comfortable with hot glue and they don’t like to draw, so drawing is out. I’ve been doing this almost 7 years and there’s so much planning involved. Because I teach at several locations, I even have to make a packing list. This video, especially the intro spoke to me. They also like to finish a project on the same day, which means a lot of prep work. I even have to make one “prototype “ because many have arthritis and even using wire cutters for pipe cleaners or floral wires are tough on their hands. I love my job though. But sometimes I order items and when they come in, I find out, it’s not going to work, so I have to change things around. When I create on my own, I always have to finish or I’ll never eat it done. It’s such a balancing act for me. Thank you for posting. ❤❤❤❤

Thanks for this video! And massive shout out to whom did your intro. That was absolutely incredible! 😍🤩👍🏻I just finished formatting a video about time saving hacks to create art, and funny enough my first tip/hack is what you mentioned as well. 🕰Take 15 minutes to just do something, don't worry about needing to spend hours on doing art. My problem is that I need to accept that my journey will be slow as I juggle being a single mom of 4 and trying to do my art and trying to weed through setting up a website etc 😫. But, the turtle still makes it to the finish line...🐢so cheers to me...even though today I feel like absolute crap, unmotivated and wanting to throw in the towel...watching videos like yours, help me keep my chin up 💙💜.

I had the same issue, what worked for me was drawing simple sketches with pen it is a good warm up, I do not worry about perfection. It has also helps me with precision when paintings as a bonus. I Sketch everyday even if it is small and use pen beause i can't erase it gets my imagination going. When I don't paint I draw and use color pencils it is a good practice for shadding and color composition. Most of all I draw what I love. Plants, cats and angels an its all for to make me happy ❤ My advice is do what makes you happy and practice everyday.❤
