Squeeze-top pill bottles for plugs when wading/walking along shore. Can be bought off amazon and come in every size imaginable. I can put three or four topwater or jerkbait type lures in one bottle. Or drop some terminal in the bottom. Put container in my pocket and head out. No messing around with lids, since the lid is attached and you simply squeeze the bottle to pop open. Super simple and convenient.

I usually put all my jerk shads together, all my Slam Shady colors together, and so on. That way I have way less bags in my kayak. And I don't bring all of them, a few of each is enough. Same with Z Man soft plastics, I put my different shrimp colors together or even mix them all together in one bag.

I use more hard baits so I use 3 boxes, otherwise carry about the same. I started putting everything in a dry bag along with wallet, keys, phone ect. I find it easy to find what I want in and easy to move around my Kayak. Since I don't pedal I keep it by my feet for easy access.

How many soft plastics might I need on an average day? I'm kayak fishing for the first time in a couple of weeks, and hopefully I'll spend 5 beautiful days on the flats around Islamorada. I have no point of reference for how much tackle to bring on the trip. Thoughts?

Great question! Make sure to ask this over on the actual blog or in the Community (www.saltstrong.com/) where the coaches spend their time. The blog can be found here: bit.ly/3zWHIaW

This is too much soft plastics for me personally. I take 1 bait binder, scissors, and small terminal box with hooks and weights. For me less is more and i stay more focused.
