I've just started trying to ride through the park. Straight air and shifties off boxes. There's this one jump at Breckenridge in the park that I just can't seem to clear. After watching this video I feel wayyy better about the day that I had. The frustration and emotion I felt, well it's good to know an experienced skiir goes through the same thing. Thank you for making me more comfortable as well as all the tips on how to progress safely and how to deal with that fear. Keep up the videos and I'll keep watching!!

This video is amazing! I appreciate that between all these videos and tutorials of Jens sending it, there's still moments where even pros have to conquer their own fears and mental blocks. I'm sure we've all been there during our learning process, and the vulnerability shown here really teaches us how to properly step outside our comfort zones

The fear for injury with certain tricks is what has held me back countless times in skiing and wakeboarding for tricks I could easily do. Learning to overcome fear is definitely a very important part of progressive skiing. Thanks a lot for this video!!

Well done mate. Totally killing it. I believe you have misspelled the fear checklist. "Rotating to early." Should be written "too early." Have a good one.

Thank you for this video! I love skiing and just doing slalom and skiing very fast but tricks were never what I wanted to do actually. Actually I just started watching your vids a few days ago and wanted to see how I can start doing tricks and learn something but now this video... I mean this was really what I needed! I am struggling with huge fears in my everyday life and I'm havin a hard time living happily since almost 3 years now but this video gave ma back some energy to face my fears and you actually showed me how to do so! Reframe, tell yourself what you fear and why you do so and start by small steps with having a checklist, a so called confidence list with small achievements. Small things you can do and achieve and by that process, slowly face the fear and take the negative energy from it to turn it into positive energy in order to keep pushing myself until I got what I wanted. For most people that's nothing special, but for me it was! For me it really was more than a Skiing video. I saw you struggle and nail it. That's not what you see normally today on social media and nobody wants to talk about struggle and failure, or even show it because "I may be considered weak" or "others don't want to know" but you, my man, just straight up caught me right there and made a difference! A difference I was looking for for such a long time and that even a coaching didn't make me see. Thank you for this video and for your pure energy! Thank you very much! Best regards from Germany!

I loved this video because it has always been a problem with me. I’m currently trying to ski rails and I have been able to do both pipes and skinny boxes. What I see now is that I need to envision myself jumping onto the rail while I’m going onto a pipe because my fear of rails is that I won’t make it onto the top of it. If I can jump onto the pipe with enough jump then I should be fine on the rail. Baby steps is key, thank you stomp it 😊

That's a cool idea, not only break down the trick to learn a "new" trick, but break down the things in specific that you are afraid of going wrong and then conquer those one at a time. A good format for defeating anything.

Learned this trick a few weeks ago on big rails, in my opinion it is one of the scariest rail trucks because it is so tempting to rotate to early, and the fear of catching your tails.. Fun trick when you land it though!

Best advice when frustration starts setting in, remind yourself that you’re about to have a breakthrough. When a trick is getting the better of me, I repeat to myself “I Can. I Will. I Must.” yo help keep focused. At the end of the day, it’s all about how bad you want it too.

Are 270's out considered hard in skiing? because they are in snowboarding and I learned to do them on skis within two days of learning how to grind a rail. I tried skiing for the first time like 4 years ago, didnt really get in to it so I stayed a pure snowboarder. I steadily progressed as a snowboarder and I'm proud to say I'm pretty good at rails. I can do 360's out, 270's out and ofc 180's both ways. I can also do all the different grinds on any rail you can find except the lipslide for frontside boardsliding. This took me very long to get to this point in snowboarding, and I wonder how I was able to get to basically doing 270's out both ways with skis in two days. For context I rented skis two days ago for the first time since 4-3 years ago and a friend of mine taught me to grind a flat rail. Yesterday I asked to borrow my sisters skis and if I could use them on my backyard rail setup (the boots were a bit tight tho, but I could use them). She said why not and I spent a good hour grinding my flat rail, with the end result being me being able to do 270's out both ways pretty consistently and lipsliding to fakie and forward. Should I consider buying my own skis, and become a weirdo who can do both snowboarding and skiing, or should I just accept the fact that what I did wasn't actually considered hard at all.

Hi, I am a 15 year old skier from Norway that want to progress in skiing. I can do every spin from 180 to 900 and can grab some of the spins. I also can do backflips but I really want to learn something new like a crock or a flat spin, I was wondering which trick you recommend me trying to learn next?
@andreaskaartin18575 жыл бұрын
Eggaming honestlt I just hucked it and gave it all I had, it wasn’t very smart though and I almost broke my ribs, but I had no idea what I did and just went for it. But I would recommend finding a knuckle and start spinning the 360 on the ground than slowly start popping on the edge of the knuckle and spinning the rest of the rotation on the snow, then you just pop more and more until you spin a full 360 in the air
@andreaskaartin18575 жыл бұрын
Eggaming and first time I did it I spent the entire day before I even tried it. After the 360 every spin is easy to learn
@andreaskaartin18575 жыл бұрын
Eggaming no problem bro, good luck and let me know if you get it, I am going to try 1080 tomorrow!
