Rejection doesn’t define you unless you let it define you!

Emily, I truly believe that God has spoken through you to me. Recently a guy who I truly love has made me feel worthless and like a burden. The man I thought he was for the past two years was washed down the drain. He is in the military and I was there for him through everything.. yet when I went through a hard time all i got was left on read and treated like I wasn't worth his time. Your video called "un-follow him" inspired me to take him off of my social media a couple days ago. I figured, if he doesn't want to talk to me directly then he doesn't deserve to see my life through social media. I feel so much more genuinely happy now that I have taken the pressure of him in my life away. Im learning to love myself through this whole situation! Thank you for inspiring me.

I dealt with a lot of rejection from friends but I grew a lot from it. It was really hard but i learned how to be a better friend because I didn't want to treat others the way I had been treated.

Love this! It really is all about our response. Great point about allowing yourself to feel things but then to move forward. The problem is usually sitting with those emotions too long and dwelling or just suppressing those feelings altogether.

Yes. So important to make sure we don't dwell, but look forward instead!

Rejection is such a difficult thing to deal with, and affects everyone at some point or another!! I definitely agree that one of the best thing to remember is that rejection doesn't define you! And that it is your choice how you handle the rejection! Love this video! - Est X

(From a guy's perspective) thank you for posting this video, I had applied for Missionary work for a whole year at NET Ministries, and I did not get accepted to be a Missionary for the year, the rejection was actually a really positive thing because now I can pray even more if God is calling me to be a Missionary at all. I have been also been rejected from many girls that I had liked but we had decided to stay friends. I know this is more towards for ladies, but this can also be for guys also especially this video. God Bless!

When I was 18 I worked as a Medical Assistant at a Pro Life OB/GYN (this was an internship through my school) I was supposed to work there for a full 5 days until the supervisor of the clinic pulled me aside on the 4th day and told me she didn’t think I was cut out for the job, even as an intern. It sucked so bad, I cried in my car and then I drove straight to adoration and cried in there. I was so confused and so hurt by the situation because I felt like that was where I belonged. But in the end I learned to try a lot harder at my job and put my best self out there. God works in ways that you would never imagine. Thank you Emily.

Preaching to the choir, GOSH your videos make me so incredibly happy, and rejection is SO difficult. God’s love is so incredibly vast and undeserving and overwhelmingly and unconditionally there no matter what. The world and things of it can suck it, God is holding your hand and nothing could ever get in His way! Loved this video. Thanks for being a beautiful vessel Emily!!❤️❤️

Hi Emily, Ive just seen a speech you've given and you spoke about how a group of girls in college said some rude things behind your back and I can tell that really hurt you, and Ive also attributed that word rejection to friendships that didnt work out or when nobody wanted to be my friend in grade 1 because i spoke a different language, but i think it also helps to reframe the situation, and rejection doesnt actually exist because usually its not a rejection but just a mismatch. And people who you think rejected you actually aren't even meant to be in your life, so its a blessing in disguise, it's God redirecting you. And I used to think that rejection meant something was wrong with me, but really its just a mismatch between me and the other person and their values... and a good person would see the good in you...

Happy Tuesday!! Thank you Emily! This was truly inspiring! You are God's gift to mankind!!! I can relate to everything you said. One thing God has taught me is that rejection does not mean that you are worthless. The Bible psalmist David stated: “In case my own father and my own mother did leave me, even Jehovah himself would take me up.” (Psalm 27:10) We have great value in the eyes of God. So when I am feeling down or depressed, I draw close to God in prayer because he comforts me. I tell him exactly how I feel and it makes me stronger emotionally to deal with rejection. Also, I like to add that warm association with my fellow Christians help me to cope with rejection too. Have a wonderful week Emily!

love this. A few months ago, I got rejected from this worship team I wanted to be on. It was especially hard because the leader told me that I had made it on the team and later told me that she changed her mind about that decision. It was super hard, and I had a lot of resentment and anger towards this girl. But I turned to God instead of focusing on her. I asked for a change of heart towards her, which helped tremendously! Now I am choosing to let this fuel me and allow me to get better!

When I saw the video title, I knew this was for me. It was like God said: "Look here Lily. I got somethin for you" I had put this massive hopes into a guy and he rejected me so clearly that for the first time in years, I just wanted to crawl into my bed, lay there like an embryo and cry (and so I did). Your words really confirmed what I felt God was saying to me. It was so good to hear that it is okay to be rejected and that I choose how to walk away from that situation. Thank you!

My life has been about rejection, because I'm an outcast and guys don't want to pursue a "religious person" I hate being labeled as that. I think they just believe a Christian women is unattractive or don't believe I can get married.

Thank you for this video!! I've been through this so many times, like everyone else. And all those thoughts that I'm not good or smart or beautiful and so on have hit me many times. I find great comfort to know that God is there and he loves me with all my imperfections, with all my clumsy moments and my sins. And when I shift my focus to God insted of dweling on the bad thought, I become greatful for that rejection. Greatful because, sooner or later, I realise that because I got rejected on this or that instance I can do something else that is more important or relevant at that time. I hope it makes sens. :)

I just went through HUGE rejection with close friends. One was my best friend for 10 years and I’ve grown up with her. It’s super hard to get over, and I’m always wondering if I did the right thing...but, those people were people that were becoming people who did not treat me with value or make smart choices for themselves. I was called a liar and told to “stop spreading rumors,” when I knew the truth of what they said and did. I made mistakes, just like one does in life, and I owned up to them, but yet the finger kept being poked back at me and kept poking at other areas of my mistakes. I still feel awful about it all, why, when I’m telling the truth? Rejection is hard, everyday is hard, I’m choosing to surround myself with people who make me feel good.
