HOW TO OVERCOME SIN || Why it's Important & 4 Steps to FREEDOM!!

As a Christian, we sometimes think we are supposed to be perfect and not sin. But if you are like ALL of us, that is not the case! So today, Ronnie and Mel are going to talk about HOW TO OVERCOME SIN, why it is important, and give you 4 steps to help you walk in freedom from your struggles!
There is sin and temptation all around us, whether it's lust, greed, pride, sexual sin, addiction, that is constantly trying to lure us in and take us away from God and our destiny in Jesus. So lets talk about it and hopefully give you some tools to fight off the enemy and walk in victory from sin!

Thanks so much for these great resources! I second the part about Gods sorrow for sin. The father and Jesus are very feeling persons, way more than we can imagine. And sin goes against their very nature. When I really understood how much God loves and longs for me and how much sin hurts him it really became my go to motivation to stay away from sin. A close and intimate relationship with God is the number one antidote to sin. He loves us eternally more than anyone else can ever do.

If we focus on Jesus , who he is and what he has done already... and not what we can’t do : we will see we are already forgiven and can come back to him and rest in his faithful love. we aren’t trying to stop sinning to earn anything. I’m understand you, I’m struggling with bad thoughts too. For example when I sing prayer to God, immediately I have thoughts that I have terrible shameful voice, that somebody hears me and laughs at me that I have to stop. It’s every day... it is just one thoughts, I have others with I’m fighting. Sometimes I fall in sin, because it’s hard to fight, hard to go only light way. It’s easy to not sing again, but my go prayers for you 🙏. Be careful.

The way to overcome sin is to be sealed with the Holy Spirit. You will turn from sin and the world once that happens. If not you will always have trouble with turning from the lusts of the flesh and the ways of the world. The Spirit of God once circumstances your heart and mind you will no longer sin and will hate sin and the things of the World and only want to please God and live completely righteous for the Lord. Faith comes by hearing, hearing the Word (truth) of God. By revelation God reveals Faith by his Grace. At that point you will become a whole new person. The old things have passed away, all things become new in the Lord. Hallelujah!! A sinner saved by Gods Grace is a precious gift!

I've followed Jesus for a long time now but only in the last 2 years or so I've realized (ok Jesus opened my eyes lol) of my struggle, my addiction has to do with mis-identity...as in finding my acceptance in people, etc. I know of one book but it's sort of hard to read bcs it's very wordy, nothing against that author. Its a choice (an every day choice). God wants you to become one with him but he won't keep you captive for himself. He gave us freedom and liberty, so when we choose him, its because we want to (cuz we love him) and not because we are obliged to :) So yes, you can be separated from him if you lose your focus from Jesus but you won't if he really is sitting on the throne of your heart! ❤

A word of encouragement.) OSAS What’s the cut off point for showing this “evidence” of salvation? You gotta show evidence within 5 minutes? 5 hours? 1 week? 1 month? 1 year? 2 years? What’s the cut off point? The evidence of your salvation is CHRIST! HE IS OUR EVIDENCE. Absolutely nothing to do with you at all. If you’re looking to yourself for evidence then you are NOT saved. Look to CHRIST for your evidence. If you believe in Him you are saved. Period. If you’re trusting yourself even 1% then you’re not saved. You’re saved by FULLY trusting Christ not partially trusting Him. I think for me one of the main verse that seals the deal is Colossians 2:11 in that that once you’re circumcised how do you then become Un-circumcised? When we’re born again it’s a spiritual operation of God and not a human operation of ourselves with human hands. So how can a human now un-do a SPIRITUAL operation??? COLOSSIANS 2:11 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision MADE WITHOUT HANDS, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the CIRCUMCISION OF CHRIST: 2 TIMOTHY 2:11 11 IT IS A FAITHFUL SAYING: For if we be dead with him, we SHALL ALSO LIVE WITH HIM: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: HE CANNOT DENY HIMSELF. *This is a FAITHFUL saying.* Do we believe it’s a faithful saying or do we doubt and believe this is a lie? It’s not about YOU keeping yourself. It’s about HIM keeping HIMSELF in you! If it was about YOU keeping yourself then ya of course you could lose your salvation. We need to trust HIS GRACE and not ourselves. Again it’s no longer grace if we have to work or persevere on our own human effort. It’s now reckoned as a debt and we’re no longer trusting Him anymore for salvation but we’re trusting the evidence of our fruit instead. In that case we’re not truly saved! God’s grace perseveres for us all we have to do is BELIEVE it does. If it’s truly by grace then it’s NO MORE OF WORKS. Otherwise is not even called grace: ROMANS 11:6 6 And if BY GRACE, then is it NO MORE OF WORKS: OTHERWISE GRACE IS NO MORE GRACE.
