It looks stupid at first glance, but it still worked out fine for the Railroad unless an unsympathetic Sole Survivor comes knocking.

@@kneekickers They were also in the middle of downtown Boston a place filled with gunner mercenaries, raiders, super mutants, and an assortment of ferals, bugs, wild dogs etc and you had to follow a pre-war trail to reach the end of the line. For us the player its simple as hell to reach. For the average wastelander or even Institute assassin good luck the Railroad is monitoring the entire thing and can close up shop behind several layers of defence if they don't want to talk to you.

You can also have Travis follow you around when you meet up with him at the brewery. Just never complete the mission and he will follow you around everywhere. Just gotta hope he spawns with a decent gun lol its usually a pipe pistol, sometimes an auto pipe, and every now and then he will pick up something off a corpse on his own. You might be able to reverse pick pocket something into his inventory, but I cant remember how well that works. The main things though is that hes essential and since hes not a companion his kills dont count as yours, so you wont have to constantly dismiss him like everyone else. In any case, this was a damn good run :D

SvendleBerries I had him pretty much my entire game and yeah, he’s really damn good, especially when he’s got some of the better weapons. Plus he doesn’t give two fucks no matter what you do, so you don’t have to worry about follower opinions cause you could eat a man in front of him and he wouldn’t care. Travis is the best companion in the game.

I used the ricochet perk and pacify to make enemies attack each other. Technically some kills went on my stats but I didn’t attack a single enemy. What's actually funny is that, from a pure casualty standpoint, the Institute route has the least number of deaths and is arguably the easiest to do ymfah's methods with. Hell, the final mission in that actually gives a shitload of really strong reinforcements (unlike the minutemen) which with a few Stealth Boys, allows you to sit back and watch some sick ass light shows while sipping a victory beverage. Hell, all of the synth backup from that route lets you sit by and chortle for half the game.

Tip for anyone trying this: To make this 10x easier I recommend getting the battered power armor north east of sanctuary. And THEN getting to diamond city. After you get into diamond city go south towards the ocean to the adam cats garage. There is a set of power armor that has a bug that gives it two sets of T-60 from there armor, with a nice design to them as well. Now when your companion goes to face Kellogg he will have access to a pretty hefty set of power armor to protect himself during the fight! Hope this helps!

So, "pacifism" is Fallout never changes as well. I remember playing through Fallout 2 without any kills but Frank Horrigan. That was a blast. Literally, I used a crapton of dynamite and plasic explosives to "accidentally" remove people who couldn't be bypassed.

If you pass a speech check before the fight with Frank, you can convince the Enclave troops to do it for you. If you have high science, you can reprogram the turrets as well, so they kill the boss instead of you.

Yes, I know. By the end of "pacifist" run I was level 26 (instead of 34-35 for usual ones). Raising weapon-related skills or even keeping guns and ammo in a pretty small inventory (Strength isn't the most useful attribute for this run to say the least, and power armor comes way too late) would be a waste. And since kills by your party members count as yours, I never took any. So hacking turrets (overdose president with superstimpacks to get his pass-card, hack with science 130+, if I remember correctly) and convincing 4 Enclave soldiers (speech 150+) was the only option.

Game doesn't count it, if you don't do it face to face. Hey, maybe the Institute realized they were going to get nuked, and all of them teleported out before the bomb went off. You don't know for sure they didn't. After all, you still get attacked by Institute synths after you blow the Institute up, so some of them most have gotten out.

I still love that you VLC clip out of the Vault at the start and then do it the proper way anyways. I'm sure there's other comments stating that if you just load back in after hitting the main menu or enter power armor your invisible pip-boy becomes visible again. Unless there's some other reason why that clip breaks the run.

How to pacifist Fallout 1, 2, or New Vegas: Build your character to be pacifist. How to pacifist Fallout 3 or 4: Glitch the shit out of them and exploit unintended mechanics because Bethesda wanted to make FarCry or Call of Duty rather than an RPG.

@@un-capital3666 It isn't about being realistic. tho.. The game give you ways and means to be pacifist and even complete most quest without killing one single thing without need of glitchs or bugs. That's what every Fallout should do , give you freedom and choice that matters.

Yeah, because Fallout New Vegas totally doesn't have points where you are required to kill something to continue... Don't get me wrong, it is a good point that Fallout 4 has considerably less opportunities to simply not kill than Fallout New Vegas does, but New Vegas is not entirely guiltless of the same problem. For example, there are certain points in the game where characters have to survive some battle to progress the story. However, many are incapable of surviving on their own so the player has to weaken the enemies to the point where someone else can kill them. Since the player does not get the last shot it is technically not a kill, and that is exploiting a game mechanic. The fact that there is almost always a way to avoid killing people _relevant to a quest_ is something New Vegas has over Fallout 4, but you cannot play the game legitimately and be a pacifist towards generic enemies.
