I'd be bringing neither, as both bags have at least one measurement that's over 22" x 14" x 9". 😢 I was pulled out of line at Heathrow and made to check my bag bc it was .5" too tall. Not worth it to me to chance it.

I just discovered your channel and love your content! For my money, I would go with the Bric's especially for Europe. More stylish and those wheels are king! I actually own the same dual-voltage hair blower and tested in Europe. I love it and it's what I use now at home. Question -- I know that "fashion" isn't your thing but I would love to get advice for travellers who plan to go to higher-end restaurants and events. I always pack a stylish suit that can be used separately. I'd love to see how you would advise to pack blazers, shoes and more fashionable outfits.

I love the Castles in Germany and France... I think the Fall is the best for travel, Early fall is great because it's still warm but not HOT! While in line for boarding at Frankfurt, we found out our flight was delayed by about 40 minutes. not enough to leave the area, so we all hunkered down I I got deep into discussion with a group of college freshman who had just finished a European Summer backpacking tour. I was amazed that one girl next to me only had a small backpack, and stated she did NOT have a checked bag. I asked her secret: she said only one pair of socks extra and one set of underwear she said they wash and dry overnight and seemed much happier than her friends with heavy bags.

I recomend to bring someting to warm you a little bit more. Because There’s an average high temperature of 23ºC in the Algarve’s capital, Faro, in October. This is perfectly warm enough for you to relax on the beach, although you should bring some warmer things for the evenings as it can get a bit chilly. The average sea temperature’s 21ºC, while humidity’s low and ranges from 50% to over 90%. There’s more rain as the month goes on, with an average of 54mm across eight rainy days, which usually comes in short showers. And the blue bag could be easier to fit in the bin because it is possible to snugg a little bit more! I love your content! Thank you for the time and Ideas!

Was 3 weeks in Portugal top to bottom, trains and cars within PT. Those cobblestones all over will test those wimpy 4 wheels! So bring the most durable wheels you have. My skateboard 2 wheeler is what I prefered over the 4 wheels which are only fine in the smooth airport floors. Bring the best walking shoes you have. Look for Manteigaria stores for the best pasteis de nata in Porto and Lisbon, you will not stop at 1 and it will be a mandatory stop each morning for breakfast! Film camera, wow so impressed. The flat dry laundery detergent sheets can also work well.

Oct 1, 2024: Just got back from 16 days in France. My only struggle was for my personal item. Icelandair has drastically reduced the amount of space under the seats, especially if you are stuck in the middle seat like I was for 8 hours of flight. The tech for the seat back entertainment system is under the middle seats (where is the fairness and compassion to middle seaters with this?!?!)and it is a box that drastically reduces that available space. You must have a skinny personal item if you are stuck in a middle seat. Or else just accept that it has to go overhead. Major bummer when I got on the plane. Beware if you are a middle-seater!

Great video! I am now using the Olay Cleansing Melts (hyaluronic) that weigh nothing! Truly washes my face, removing tinted sunscreen and mascara.. For laundry, I carry washing sheets, not powder. I can tear one in half to do two loads in most European-sized washers. They weigh nothing and are flat, so easy to slip in to any spot (keep from getting moist in transit). Since 2018, my carry-on spinner has been the Samsonite Cosmolite that weighs 3.9 lbs. I carry-on to Europe, and check it coming home. It's held up so well, without any damage and still rolls smoothly. My "personal item" bag (I have so many) is always a last-minute choice, depending on size restrictions, and where I'm going. Currently, I have a 34L PacSafe backpack to try. I use an iPad mini now, as it weighs so much less than my large one. I only take my MacBook Air if I'm staying in one place for a month.

I heard in 2017 that Venice was contemplating banning wheeled luggage, to some degree, as they are overrun with tourists wheeling luggage around on cobblestones. I dont know if it happened but it made me think of ancient Rome's ban on noisy traffic during the day.😊 i wheeled my suitcase as considerately as I could.

I was in Venice two months ago and there were lots of people with wheeled bags including my husband and no one mentioned anything about it. I travel with a back pack as it’s easier in European countries with cobble stones (most of them do). Also easier on trains.

I have just found a 1.9kg soft sided carry on bag by the UK firm Antler. It’s called the Brixham. As more airlines are cracking down to 7kg carry on (just came back from Europe) I wanted a good quality light weight non-clamshell carry on. It will give me 5kg to do my stuff. Hope I don’t have trouble putting my personal bag on top. But maybe that’s a sign to lighten your personal bag. I used a backpack that was not heavy I thought but by the time I changed planes and terminals in Dubai my shoulders were screaming out for help. Took me nearly 2 weeks to get my shoulders to relax. 😎

LOVE my 19" Travelpro compact spinner. My only complaint is that when I slide my backpack onto the top of it, it will tip over forwards if I park it, so I have to make sure it's up against something like a chair or a wall, facing toward the wall/chair. I also have the slightly larger Maxlite air hardside carry-on that doesn't tip over like that, & I read that the EU standardized all its airlines' luggage size requirements this summer so now i can take that to Europe as a carry-on instead, but it's a little heavier (1.2 pounds more). I love Travelpro luggage - lightweight, durable, lots of different sizes.

I have the same bric bag in black and i like it however , when i place my pers bag on top using the carry on's handle, the soft composition of the bag causes the personal item bag to be unstable and slide or flop over. I also have your travelpro in blue, tho, and that is more rigid and the per item bag stays in place as it should.

I prefer the Travelpro, in fact I just bought the max lite compact bag as the measurements are exact for my airlines, with it fitting the minimal 22x14x9 exterior measurements of my favorites. I looked at yours and others, but the height of yours is actually just 21.7 inches, which only is 0.3 inches less than mine (so I'm confident mine would be fine as well if there's an airline that is smaller), and it's 1.75 inches too wide, which is a definite no on the 14" rule flights. I think the 19" measurement you keep using is deceiving as that's just the height of the interior (the makers use that measurement as well to fool people). I think the Brics would appeal more to college age people, less professional looking, IMO. Nonetheless, I love your videos. Keep it up!

Bigger issue is when I changed a flight to lessen the layover, the plane changed to an AIrbus 350 with a personal item size of 16x12X7.5 ....I think I found a good one, a backpack but have more coming in just to see if the wider top version of the same brand give a bit more room at the top...BUT it's 1 lb heavier. I just purchased and took the same Bric bag to Spain for 10 days. I regret to say I’m not all that happy with it. Its best feature is the wheels. I agree with Aly- they glide so nicely! Unfortunately the bag is a bit saggy and the “lid” has zero rigidity. When the bag is upright, all of your stuff piles up at the bottom making the bag pooch out of shape a bit. When you have the bag open for packing/unpacking, the lid just flops and it rather inconvenient. It is lightweight which is the main reason I bought it. I was able to get the majority of the airport transit scuff marks off of the fabric with an all purpose household cleaner. If you can get this bag on a great sale and light weight is your priority, maybe…skip it otherwise. Happy travels!

This question is for you and anyone else in the comments section: For the budget airlines (Ryanair, Wizz, easyJet), I know they have weight limits on your personal items and even if you pay to bring a larger roller bag they have a 10kg weight limit. I know they will penalize you if your bag doesn't fit in their sizer, but have you ever experienced them actually weighing your personal item or carry on bag? Thanks for the great content.

Hope u use the blue carry on. Thank u for all the research you put into your videos! Would u happen to know why hotels do not have enough places to hang items like toiletry bags or towels

Many hotels are older buildings and not part of chains.they are retrofitted to update and I think staff etc never actually logically think of use. One I used had a shelf on the opposite side of the bathroom and nothing near the sink

seems to me you can reduce that toiletry kit, it seems a bit bulky… not sure why you need to bring stuff like q tips and cotton pads which should be readily available in any city 😅 8.6kgs seem to be above the 7kg limit too…

If you travel with a tour group sometimes it's hard to get to a store based on time allotments and transportation. First day in Venice, no store walking distance.

My experience is also that these bigger bags are hard to pack. I usually divide my items in two smaller instead. Then they fit more places. And I make sure they can hang by adding a carabina and some string if it's not already a hanging one

I flew TAP back in April and they weighed my carry on and personal item together and I was over-weight (whatever that total was, not sure) but they ended up checking my carry on for free.

I live in Europe and I have never ever come across a hotel that doesn’t have toilet paper. EVER 😂😂 . Love those compression cubes. I couldn’t just wear the same two pairs of shoes for a whole two weeks. The temperature in northern Portugal can dip from one day to the next, and if it rains and your shoes get wet - then you’d only have those open sandals?? well I guess you have a little bit more room to go shopping for shoes.

Curious if you have ever actually experienced the airlines weighing your bags at the gate?
@aigidh
@aigidh Ай бұрын
@Voltaire77 Yes, at the check-in counter for both online and manual check-in, but only budget airlines weigh lugage at the gates. Emirates in Brisbane has two queues at the check-in counter. One for manual check-in and one for online check-in to weigh cases.

I was told by two separate friends that live in Europe not to wear leggings or any workout type wear any place but at the gym in Europe. So in respect of the locals that may agree with this, I leave my leggings at home☹️. Not saying all Europeans feel the same way, of course I would have no idea on everyone’s thoughts.

Yes, athleisure is usually left for the gym in Europe vs. North America and you'll easily spot the tourists that way! But, I am a tourist! I think a mix between being comfortable and respectful is ok.

European here , i think really depend on the leggings style. Some people may not like the tight fit once or see-through , as they show every curve , but with a longer top that cover the bum it should be fine. I have a pair of flared leg one from h&m, and you can't tell i am wearing leggings, plus they have pockets .
