Miss Joni, can you explain why you use green an purple as your dark base? I find it better than simply using black. But can you explain if there is a specific reason?

Yes that’s exactly the reason, it’s much richer and acts as a complimentary colour to all the yellows….. 😘 it’s one of those little BIG tips!

Details are what has always hindered my paintings. But what I have learned in the past year from you and Michelle the painter, is that the details are just an illusion, dots, dabs and lines. Without your guidance, I would have painted the stones first and then the greenery, painting in layers. Is there any more advice you can give me to help me understand this, I feel like I'm missing something and don't know how to properly ask the question.

Thank you, the best advice is simply to just practice! I recommend doing both watching and following along with tutorials and painting without them. Doing both will make you improve quicker and develop your own sense of creativity and style ❤️
