LOVE how Red's cape just pops against the gray scale. I'm gonna attempt this one and give it my best shot. I really enjoy your tutorials but I am especially fond of these gray scale paintings. Great balance in this painting. I love that everything is in shades of grey except Red Ridinghood. Well done! My only suggestion would be to put a few more teeth in the wolf’s mouth to make it more realistic.

Ugly stage...I know it...I was going to quit. I'd already waited for 3 months to put brush to canvas. Started ok then disaster! Everything I knew or tried to learn turned yop ugly. Couldn't paint a stroke. Then I thought how can it get worse? For me I stopped overthinking and went for it...I've completed 4 paintings...still need tweaking lol but it was a break through. I know I still need to get better...I'm ready to go for it...After winter then after summer etc, I'll monitor progressing...or not....yes I will! Thank you so much Joni. Hi! I love your tutorials! Making this as a Christmas gift but I don’t have the rake Filbert as well as that I’m doing this on an 11 x 14. Any tips for that dimension and substitute tool/ technique for the rake brush? Tia. ;)

Hi Jennifer, if you don’t have a rake fan or filbert then use a liner or regular fan with a bit of water to help the bristles separate 😊

Any grey will work and you can lighten or darken it with white or black 😘 if you don’t have any neon red, mix your brightest red with a bit of orange or yellow, add a bit of white.
