I lay down the acrylics first and then streaking grime over., this is interesting way to do it
@ThePutridPainter Жыл бұрын
That is usually the way to go but definitely the only way :) I didn’t want the trimmings and other bits to lose too much definition from the streaking grime

I see a significant improvement! I'd love to see your take on the emperor's children tho

Thank you! I don’t think I ever painted an Emperors Children but that guitar wielding Marine would be awesome to paint

Just on the slight chance you notice this and even reply. How would you bring in "a shadow"? The OSL is superb and I copied that. Looks superb but now I am wondering that there might be a darker shadow "missing". Do you think a dark color (i.e. naggaroth night) from the opposite direction might help? Or am I overthinking it and possibly ruining it?

Hey! I reply to all the comments I get :) Cool you tried the OSL! For adding shadow into you might try a shade with a brush. Or a very watered down dark paint maybe. Not sure what will happen when you spray it. It might just diffuse the osl a lot. I would probably go for a shade on places where you want the shadow to be

@@ThePutridPainter thanks for taking the time. I was looking at the mini and thought about subtly trying to dry brush a shadow on but wouldn't know how to 😂 Additionally, like you pointed out, I was "afraid" it would be to much to airbrush it on. Maybe if I dilute the paint to the point of a glaze I can spray it on. Still so unsure about it :) Can't get myself to potentially "ruin" my work

Drybrushing will not get you the darkened recesses. And it's fine to experiment. If you're using Tessarect Glow it's quite opague. You can just re-apply it if the shadows don't work for you. It's always good to just try things. Or maybe get a test model to do that
