I'm here Jose but with one difference. For at least the last two years I have just tuned in to listen. Tonight I am painting along. I'm slow and am using water colour pencils. This is the third video of yours that I have listened to this eve. I'm just picking up bits and pieces that you have done in your 3 paintings and incorporating them all into this picture I'm working on. Having you working while I'm finally trying makes me feel I can do it. In two days I have to have a painting to frame for my granddaughter's 18th birthday. That's all she wanted from me. Jose, I'm so captivated by the way you use different values of the same color, and thickness or thinness of the brush strokes, to create depth and perspective. Nice work! I would just suggest at the end of the video moving the completed painting onto a white or other background so the viewer can fully appreciate it. I say that because it gets a bit lost amongst the old paint on your easel.

Are you painting on board? If so, do you use gesso to prime or just paint?

I'm painting on gessoed canvas board/panel. Sometimes I paint on Masonite boards and I gesso those!

Thanks. Like you, I am pretty prolific and have found it much more affordable to buy board and have it cut to size as opposed to buying pre-stretched canvas. I'm not as fast as you are (which I love about your work) but am loose brush...but small loose brush! I enjoy your work and your insights amigo, keep it up!
