From personal past experience, don't use a pool pump to drain a pool, it puts to much strain on the pump sucking the water up that high,and will likely burn out the motor, if not right then, within a few weeks. Instead use a submersible pump you can drop down into the pool. I bought a pump from harbor freight that has worked well for over 5 years now.. and about 20 -30 pool drains, and it was under $100.

my pool has a galvanized layer on the sides and concrete on the bottom. We previously changed the vinyl liner a lasted for six years. Can we paint over this instead of doing another vinyl

pressure washing never takes it all off even on a weak house paint... honestly I thought sanding would have been better but might have been to tough substance and tearing the sand paper.. that coating is pretty tough paint its not soft by any means. 5 and 1 might of been only tool that was strong enough for the heavy stuff.

Which pump did you use? How low did it get the water? I have a water table that fills the bottom to 3 to 4 inches overnight and want to keep it drained to no more then 1 inch overnight, which pump should I use?

Great video!!! What bonding agent should I use if I have never painted with chlorinated rubber pool paint before? Previously( about 4 years ago) we painted using an epoxy so what do I do , can I put the chlorinated rubber paint on top of the old epoxy?

Looking for a little advice....I am presently living in a small country in S. America. On the property is an old concrete above ground tank that I am attempting to covert into some sort of swimming pool. Yes, I know it will not be perfect, but it's just sitting there and I want to find a use for it. There is a filter system (I will be replacing the old filter with a sand filter) but the tank itself is just bare concrete, 6' tall and 32' across. I've repaired the bare rebar and am looking for a paint. I wanted to use epoxy but they do not have epoxy pool paint here (only epoxy floor paint and I understand that is different) so chlorinated rubber is my only option. how many coats should I use for old bare concrete? also, it is late spring here and days are hitting 90's...is that a problem for painting? any tips would be appreciated since I will be doing this on my own and have never attempted anything like it before. thanks.

Drill a couple holes around the bottom of the floor. It allows water to "drain" in if the water table gets too high. This is paramount.

I wondered that too. How to determine what product. All the pools I have ever done were two part epoxy coatings. Simple, just not a lot of pot life, but cure time is like 48 hours. I can't imagine having to wait 7 days to fill it back up. (Funny aside.. don't paint yourself in the bottom, you'll only do that once.. he he)
