Thank you! I was pretty pleased with how that Dragon turned out! And it was a fun mini to paint too!

That really looks good! Love the base of purple rather than using it as a shade!

very beautiful, and the application of the paint was done in a way that seems feasible for a beginner like me to try

Very informative video as always. The dragon looks incredible good! :) Also, will you make a video showing some of the send-in dragons?
@HobbyNight4 жыл бұрын
Oh, I hadn't thought of doing that... If I don't, there's a solid chance Games of Berkeley will.

Good video. The purple never occured to me. Think you could do a "glossy black" tutorial? I have Venom for MCP I gotta do
@HobbyNight4 жыл бұрын
Honestly the easiest thing I would suggest for achieving a glossy black finish would be to either use a glossy shade (nuln oil for example has a 'gloss' version, I've never used it, I think Nuln Oil is a bit glossy sometimes already) or brush on a gloss varnish, if you don't simply use a gloss spray varnish over the entire thing instead.

But how did you deal with how close the wings are at the base?
@ArchChronarch4 жыл бұрын
Awesome job, never occured to me that you could use a purple base to enrich the red layer.

It was something that I had remembered hearing about and wanted to give it a try with this miniature. I am glad it work how I had hoped that it would!! ^_^

My only criticism (minor) is if you could rotate the entire model between stages so we can get a good look at all the sides.

Wizkids minis are really nicely done, for the most part, but for myself? Those mold lines are an absolute PITB to get rid of, and I think the primer is a little too heavily laid on at times, which means some fine details can get done away with. Otherwise, they're not bad at all--I've got a blue dragon and a black dragon in my drawers of shame, and eventually I'll get on those with the airbrush.

Did.... did you just throw that miniature across the room?! Great paint job though.
@HobbyNight4 жыл бұрын
While secured in it's packaging onto a couch off screen! Although to be fair, WizKid's miniatures are fairly...rubbery, so even out of the packaging I think it would take a single toss without breaking. Good stuff!

3 hours? How quickly does gw paint dry?
@HobbyNight4 жыл бұрын
It definitely did -not- take 3 hours thankfully. They dry about as quickly as any acrylic paint does, which is around 20-30 minutes on average. Although when dry brushing, because not a lot additional moisture is added to the paint like normal, it can be faster than that.
