Awesome and far better detailed, as always. In my paint of the Young Red Dragon, I actually went with black and dark blue highlights, to give it that "burned metal" look that the guide says it has. The base I made to look like a lava field, mostly obsidian black with red, orange, and yellow fluorescent pain in the cracks and crevices that really glow like lava under blacklight. To top it off, I actually glued a light dusting of ashes to the base. I also used the fluorescent paint for the fireball from it's mouth so that it'll glow too.

DAS still exists? I haven’t seen that stuff since I was a kid in the 70’s. I remember using it to create a Martian landscape diorama for a school project. Regarding your mini, it’s exquisite as always. I love the black at the edges of the beautifully highlighted red. I’m working on the Shimmergloom Shadow Dragon mini from a friend’s Legend of Drizzt game, so I may use the painting techniques for this one, but with purples and dark greys. Do you layer multiple colours for the transparent breath weapon piece? Lastly, I don’t know which of the chromatic dragons is my favourite: green, probably then red. The bases with the added waterfronts are epic, so the blue and black are also great. I hope that doesn’t sound like I dislike your white dragon.

Hi There Wow so I watched so of your videos and this one. I got one of these Dragons Young Black Dragons. I'm a first timers. I got a Army Painter starter Set. I was thinking to use the Barbarian Flesh for the base cote first then the Pure Red and do a dry brush then use the Strong Tone. Would that work? Please Help me if you can. Thanks
@DevsDice3 жыл бұрын
Hey Vincent! So I would say that works fine except one thing. Doing a drybrush with pure red will essentially means that the high points in the dragon will be red while the shadow areas would remain barbarian flesh colored. If that is what you want then go for it! :D Strong Tone is a brown wash which will in some ways desaturate the colors (as washes tend to do). I have to say that to answer this with confidence I need to understand what you are going for in detail :D

How do you prepare your paints for the airbrush?
@DevsDice Жыл бұрын
Good question Jsaints_Custom_Art! I thin them using airbrush thinner and the exact amount is something that is relative to the paint, your pressure, your airbrush and how close/far you're painting from the model. So it's one of those things that you need to try and learn eventually! 👍😊
