I've always wanted to be an artist since I was young. I'm now 68 and have been painting for 1yr. I want to thank you for your patience and kindness to try to help people like me. Maybe some day I can be half as good as you.

Buck's seascapes are especially good. He seems like such a decent and super nice guy on top of his great artistic talent. He's the kind of guy that will give you the shirt off his back.

I must confess to having discovered your work only just in the last month. It puts me in mind of the great master Winslow Homer. The power and the color of your seascapes, along with the wonderful light are awesome. Thank you so much for sharing your brilliant skills, and stories with me and your vast and admiring audience. You are so generous...

Thank you so so much for your fast response to my query. It is kind of you to take the time to help in this way. You will of course appreciate that without the right brushes, the exercise is so difficult. The old masters were amazingly skilled at producing their brilliant paintings with the crude instruments they had available to them. I have ordered the hake brush and hope it will help to achieve my aim. Grateful thanks. Betty

I hope you have more of this artist. I truly love this theme and I fins the realism outstanding. How about a schooner or a mutli-masted warship or two? Take your time, make it a two hour painting. Fantastic painting!

There's quite a few more with Buck Paulsen, but this is the only one this long, the rest are about 30min long, though nowhere near as many videos as Bill. He did have his own pbs show, though I'm a bit suprised that there's not that much of him on youtube

@@dregoth22 I do so like the paintings you have to zoom into, since you can notell they are a photo or not at first glance; so take your time and make itwo or three hours

I'm kinda new to oil painting, could someone enlighten me on the priming of the canvas? Did he use a green oil paint mixed with some medium? Is it still wet or already dry?

Would you please describe Bucks Bunny Brush. In the UK we do not have this brush and so I need to find its equivalent. It looks like a flat bristle brush of some kind, it also appears to be quite soft and yet it is ok with oil paint on canvas. I have searched for many days now to find such a brush. Can you please help me to find Bucks Bunny Brush? Kindest regards. Betty
@AAlexanderArt Жыл бұрын
Buck’s Bunny brush is a hake brush. Soft goat hair or equivalent. It is very soft. Thanks for asking.

You don't have to be there, but you have to live it, my professor use to say "don't make it up" From that point, I went out and travelled the earth, And many places that you have went to see you CAN paint. What I'm saying is paint what you know, don't paint a sail boat because someone else did. Paint that little labrador puppy on your lap, because it's real.. and it will show in your painting.

Mr. Paulson, are you using oil or acrylic, sir? I may have missed it when you mentioned it earlier. I love watching this video, and I am tempted to paint right along with you. Thank you.
