This is a small scale watercolour about A5 size. It was inspired by a photo I took in Wales while on holidays a few years ago. Hope you enjoy it!

Rives BFK etching paper. Probably best to source this from your local store so you can look after the paper and not have it posted unless you are buying a large amount of paper and it will be looked after. There is nothing worse than getting hundreds of sheets all with a indent in them. Having said that you can actually source this paper from amazon:

Some people have been extremely happy with the state of the paper when it arrived (and some not!)
I love this paper it is soft and lights are lifted easily from it.

That's a really beautiful photo of a sunset on the coast of the Gower Peninsula, superbly interpreted by the majestic brush strokes of Scott Swinson. That contrast of blue vs orange is such a wonderful primary + complimentary combo.

@@ScottSwinson I love the way you teased out the sunburst from within the orange swirl. I've tried doing your tissue-swipe technique a few times, but it not as easy as to looks. It's difficult to judge when to do it and by how much. More practice coming up...

Your brush strokes are fantastic. I’m so stiff and stuck in a rigid and I feel like my strokes are “primitive” lines. I’m still trying the 10 stroke. But When I loosen up I sometimes get a mess. I saw the guy from Sweden you spoke of. His 10 stroke was very nice but still deliberate. I’m not giving up. My paintings are evolving in a nice way, but I need to give up “control”. I can’t control water😂

Hi Becky! Glad you enjoy the videos and paintings. I used the light red with cobalt blue in the sky and then with Winsor Blue (red shade) in the foreground.

Hi Julia the blue was a mix of cobalt blue and light red. You can always look in the description below to find out the colours I use and they are normally in the order I painted with them. Cheers Scott
