Thank you for highlighting the work of a woman artist who did not receive the credit she deserved in her own time. She was criticized for being too sentimental for painting scenes of women's lives, but that is what was familiar to her, being barred from areas of life dominated by men. Your painting is lovely, and as always I learn a great deal from your videos.

When I opened my KZbin app today and didn’t see a new video I was worried for a second. 😧 after an hour it popped up. Oh yeah. We just had our daylight savings time change. 🤦🏻♀️ I love this series and I appreciate the highlight of Helen Allingham and especially hearing how Van Gogh admired her art. What an inspiration she is! And goes to show how the “critics” can get it wrong. Your painting is beautiful and it was a blessing to watch you paint it. It always amazes me how a blank piece of paper can turn into a masterpiece. ❤ 🖼️ As always sending prayers and good wishes to you and Margot. 🙏🏻❤️

Her paintings don't actually look too romanticised, not when you look at the buildings. They're worn, they're tatty, and they seem incredibly accurate. The figures might cleaned up, but, again, possibly accurate. She did give everything a softness and warmth that made them seem more romanticised, though. You did an amazing tribute to her work. Now I'm off to Google to discover more 😊
