Pretty pastel colors on your paper Steven. Some nice clouds with tissue paper as well as some distant mountains. on right hand side a long yellow hill. On the other side a darker hill. Near yellow hill a smaller blue one with rocks at bottom. Some big and small dark trees on left hand side with drawing of a few trunks which are a good demo. A nice land with rocks on the left hand side. The nice colors of sky reflect beautifully on water. Nice foregrounds on both sides with some pretty rocks. Thank you Steven for wonderful teachings and instructive demos.

Nice colors yellow and mauve for the sky as well as a few white clouds using tissue paperA little pale blue mountain in the distance and two hills on each side. Another small hill near yellow one with some small rocks. On left hand side a big dark tree with a small land with pretty pastel colors and a few rocks. This tree make nice contrast with hill behind. A foreground on both sides with small rocks which make lovely contrast with clear water. The colors of sky reflect beautifully on water. It's really lovely. I have just started painting at home for fun, nothing serious, though my landscapes have turned out pretty good, especially using watercolour, oil painting is pretty hard when it comes to mistakes, and acrylic is harder than watercolour but easier than oil I find, really having fun and some good results with watercolour, easy to fix mistakes and have fun with colour, thanks for the reply

Mr Cronin, I bought an hake brush awhile back and was surprised I didn't spend much, but then most of the stuff in this hobby store was very reasonable (read "cheap.") The first few times I tried painting with it, it lost several hairs. Is this typical of the hake or did the store sell it to me for cheap because their cost was cheap?
@StevenCronin8 жыл бұрын
My hake tends to lose hairs over time. I think it's just something we have to live with. I've even stopping picking them off the paper a lot of the time and just leave them as part of the painting!

Do you use water on your brush?
@StevenCronin4 жыл бұрын
Generally I have just enough water on the brush to hold the hairs together. The hake can hold vast quantities of water compared to other brushes and it would be easy to dilute the paint mix too much. I think this is a common problem but with experience you'll learn how to control the water in the brush. I always have a tea towel in my other hand to wipe off excess water.
