Diane, this cheerful little painting makes me so happy! The I love the colors you selected and the composition is so creative. I love how you created your irregular little circle for a bird and decided it would be a rooster. Oh wow! Yes, it's bizarre. Today, Brittany was put on red alert for weather danger for the very first time ever, and we had over 40 deg C for the first time ever. It has also not rained for 3 months. That's the worst part. We have lost all our grass and have had to give away 6 of our sheep because we can't feed them any more. Unbelievable.

Hi possum from Canada! Lovely to hear from my fellow Canadian! So glad you’re enjoying my videos. Welcome to the channel and I hope that you spend a lot of time with us! I have painted with acrylics too, but eventually got frustrated with the number of brushes I had to throw away because the paint dried solid in the bristles! If you’re struggling with watercolour, the set of watercolours I just bought from Kuretake would probably be a good buy. They are only around $US50 for 48 colours and they include some opaque colours too. As well they are easier to use than traditional watercolour paints. I’m not sure why but they don’t seem to make so many back runs and bad mixes. Anyway just a thought! Plus as you follow our videos you will find that things are easier than maybe you thought! Have fun anyway that’s the main thing, and I look forward to your future comments!

Good morning! Yes, we say Aga-vae here in the US. Another great tutorial and such a cute picture. Love the colors and fortunately I have Naples Yellow and I love that color. Don't use it enough! Of course you can use any yellow......I know, I know, make it mine! 🥰

Love this! We have a brand of paper in South Africa called Primeart. I recently discovered that the paper is actually made by Hahnemuhle. I’ve used their bamboo paper and I really like it. I’m not sure how they do it but it’s much cheaper than the original.

I think the fact that I was unconscious of the paper while I was painting on it! In other words, it didn't do any of the naughty things, like back runs or drying out in patches, or warping.... and the surface is a good texture. I must get some more!

Hi NoDramaNoTea, here's a solution. Just follow my videos using acrylics instead of watercolors! You can use acrylics exactly the same as watercolors, diluting them with water in the same way. Only difference is that the acrylics, once they have dried, cannot be removed at all from the surface you painted on. Why not give it a try?

AGAVE is the German name for a plant. You pronounced it right escept for the E. The E doesn't need to be pronounced that heavily, just like E in the English word "met" or "a" .
