The yellow rose is my favorite flower. I have watched many being painted and you have done an exquisite realistic rendition of the photograph. I am a great fan of your work, even before you started your own channel. Love your work.

Hello, Thank you for your tutorial. -I'm new to oils. I've only just started looking into it properly. I loved your tutorial on the pears. It gave me confidence to start. -But this tutorial was a lot more advanced! I love the underpainting method, and it's effect but I'm wondering if it's possible with florals to achieve a more delicate end result? I'm so used to watercolour, oils sometimes seem garish. Could I use a palette of less intense colours? Or would they get lost over the underpainting? Is the very wide spectrum of brightest white to near black necessary? Or could I achieve a pleasing result with a more modest spectrum of light to shade? Thank you!
@MazArtStudio7 ай бұрын
Hello. You can achieve any type of colour scheme using the underpainting technique it’s all about personal taste. I do a lot of florals I’m working on a magnolia for my students using the underpainting and it’s very delicate so you can do whatever style you like. Check out my academy you’ll see lots of examples mazartacademy.com/

Was wondering if you can explain when to use mixing white vs titanium white.
@MazArtStudio3 жыл бұрын
That might be a good new video. But basically titanium makes things very pastel whereas mixing white lightens without bleaching the colour. So you get a light yellow rather than a pastel yellow. I hope this helps you. It’s worth having it in your kit (and a relatively new discovery for me).

How long did you let your underpainting dry before starting on the colored glazes? Thanks
@MazArtStudio3 жыл бұрын
It will vary but typically overnight. I left mine 4 days to make sure the background was dry
@ms.lizzypoulos92763 жыл бұрын
You mentioned using glazes to add color, but I don’t see you use any medium. Did you use medium with the colors you added?
@MazArtStudio3 жыл бұрын
I worked with very little medium so I had more control. I applied the paint super thin so I could see the underpainting underneath - like a glaze. Hope this helps.
