I resort most times to this exercise when the old art block comes along! I usually find this springs forward some new ideas to get going again’. Great fun and you get a bagful of small paintings into the bargain!

I loved doing finger painting in first grade and I don't even know why I stopped and I did some drawings but at the time my drawings were not acceptable or in style so I guess you can say mine was folk art but there was many many years before I found myself and started painting and drawing again which does make me happy being in the paint aisle at a store and watching these videos

What a great comparison to film photography! In my former career, I art directed thousands of photo shoots. Only a fraction of them were good enough for publication. I guess it doesn't really make sense to think that every painting I make will be good. 😊

Did you use watercolor paper for those lil paintings?? Btw,Your big painting behind you looks great!! Do you apply gesso on a canvas before painting your abstract art? I have seen other abstract painters but they dont tell if you have to apply gesso over your canvas even if its abstract painting. Thank you in advance. God bless!!😊

The canvas is gessoed before I begin, but I always buy pregessoed canvas because it saves me time. 🌸
