I used flat black oil based on my old 75 gallon applied with a roller. Came out great! I'm on my way to get semigloss black now to paint my new 75 gallon. Will use roller again as it's so easy. 👍

I just did this today and it looks good from the viewing side. Looks fully covered, but when I shine a light on the back (where I sprayed) you can see thin spots. Is this normal? I don’t think I can tell from the front but I’d rather know before I fill 120gs up and put it against the wall. Thanks :)

I would just give it another coat just to make sure. The thought alone would kill me. Lol.

Sorry about the late reply. I used high gloss on the back of my tanks. Hope that helps.

what type of paint is used for decoration? it's better type of paint rather than what brand because it's hard to find the specific brand

Don’t see a problem with that. Just be carful not to get any paint in the tank.

Couldn't you just turn the tank upside down instead of taping paper to the top?

Great idea but I painted the tank on horses outside. Last time I did that without covering the tank there was overspray in the tank. It was he'll to remove. It only took about 5 minutes to cover.
