how to paint blood splatters on a guitar

There was a custom guitar that was ordered and they wanted blood splatters on it. There are multiple ways to paint blood splatters, but in this video, I show you a foolproof method.
Just remember blood is not just red. It has a small amount of blue in it. It is not purple, but it needs blue to give it that dark look.

Definitely looks like real blood. You could use a spray bottle set to mist for some light splatter, and set to stream (at an angle) for heavier "drips". Also, an eye dropper for drips. Nice work.

To get the BEST reproduction of a 'natural' blood-splatter, put a sheet of rubber over a container with the blood-red paint/dye, and use a knife to stab the rubber and coat the blade. Removing the blade at a slight angle as the rubber will mimic the tendency of skin to remove a relatively natural amount of 'blood'. The cross section of the blade will only allow a specific amount of 'blood' along the edge bevel, resulting in an effect which is the same as if someone had been stabbed, because you're effectively using the same implements for a similar but different job. A kitchen knife is best for the job, as it's the most widely used implement in puncture wounds worldwide.

I just thought about strapping the axe on then pour/drip blood red paint down like somebody wounded me (neck, shoulder, arm). I’d def put my fingerprints on it while taking it off -a great ‘ice breaker’ at Open Mic Nights! 😅
