Probably the best tutorial video on KZbin. I was going to say best hair painting tutorial but to be honest the edit on this with the camera angles and then the alternate colours at the end and the tips mashed up with exactly what you're doing.. So original and so well done. You should have 100x the subs. Keep up the amazing work. This vid is 10/10.

You do an incredibly good job on these vids! Still think you'd rock a narration ;) Either way, thank you for posting these. Gives me lots of new ideas. "Beard is everything, for a Dwarf, so it's better to paint it properly." legit!

Thank you Jon!! Well, it's not technically a narration, but here you can find more detailed explanation of the process: www.durginpaintforge.com/post/dwarfology-part-v

What's the undercoat you have before the ochre? Andrea colours Dark Leather brown or something else? Very nicely done!
@DurginPaintForgeMiniatures4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Brian! I use, as undercoat, a mix of Vallejo German red (primer) and Vallejo black (primer) to obtain a kind of dark chocolate tone :)
@BrianKelly_LettheGamesBegin4 жыл бұрын
@@DurginPaintForgeMiniatures So cool! It's a warm tone that really gives a nice undercoat to the ochre. Very enjoyable video to watch.
@DurginPaintForgeMiniatures4 жыл бұрын
@@BrianKelly_LettheGamesBegin exactly! I prefer not to paint on white undercoat because with a dark one I "read" better the model (and it's easy to lining the various details of the sculpt), but a pure black undercoat would be too dark, so I prefer to start with a dark brown ^^

Hey 👋 Do you think that the first shadow from yellow paint set is available in standalone? I took a look at the catalog and I think it might be the Japanese kaki?Or the Golden Yellow? Thanks :)
@DurginPaintForgeMiniatures4 жыл бұрын
Hi! I think that, remaining in Andrea range, the Golden Brown color is the most similar colour u__u

Hi. Wonderful stuff. Am using this technique for some of the shadespire dwarfs. What colour did you use to lighten the base tone? Sort of deck tan or light grey.
@DurginPaintForgeMiniatures5 жыл бұрын
Yes a kind of, it's called Confederate grey (Andrea), but you can use a Silver Grey (Vallejo) or Rakarth Flesh (citadel) or any similar light grey color u__u

I can actually see the model and the brush strokes, and mixing on the pallet. There are folks in Patreon that charge decent money for videos, where it's almost impossible to see what they're really doing
