I so appreciate how you simplify a technique , but still have a satisfying outcome, for a beginner like me

Shayda, I'm so glad I found your channel! You are inspiration in motion. I'm just learning watercolor and have struggled with this medium. Watching the brush strokes "on camera" is wonderful but, what really helped me with this one is the "off camera" techniques. Watching you mix the paints, add water to them, adding water to your brushes, blotting on paper...all very useful information for me! My watercolor set is very high in pigmentation and with this video I was able to get the right amount of water and paint! Thank you so much!

Rewatching this in 2022 brings a smile to my face. You seem so much younger and are so cute (of course you still are cute!). Your watercolor expertise has come a long way since those days, and I've learned right along with you. Thanks for years of great content!

The way that you used both of these techniques on similar but different subjects for wonderful but obviously different results is so good! I’m really pleased to see how well the sharp edge from the wet on dry piece worked to create that “edge” on each leaf and really make them seem for highlighted as a result. Ill have to keep this in mind for more drastic angles, since I tend to work wet on wet a lot but hadn’t understood the value of wet on dry for intentionally creating what looks like a sharp angle until just now. Thank you!

Thank you for this tutorial on eucalyptus leaves, however I would've liked you to tell the name of the actual colour you mixed to make green. As you know there are many different blues and yellows to make green. And eucalyptus leaves come in many different shades. I was looking to see what colours you mixed to make the grey/green that they are here in my part of Australia. Thank you.

Most people want their areas smooth for even colors But usually when ur doing wreaths or leads people make it have califlowers for a whimsical look. I personally love them tho

Jo Mana, I didn't see where she provided the information for the brushes. I was interested too. I found this link, www.createforless.com/Multicraft-Tools-Oriental-Art-Brush-Set-Liner-8pc/pid265770.aspx. This is for the smaller brush she is using.

Hey shayda ! Every time I do watercolour painting the page always warps even if I’m using a heavy weight paper 😞 what can I do to prevent this ? Am I using too much water perhaps ?
@ShaydaCampbell7 жыл бұрын
Three things: #1. Make sure the paper you're using is at least 140lb, the heavier paper will stand up to more water and won't always need to be stretched. #2. Yes, it could be that you're going a bit heavy with the water, but that's okay if that's your style! Which leads me to #3. If you use light paper and/or lots of water, or you just want to be an extra good artist, you can always stretch your paper and you will avoid all buckling. Here's my video on how to do that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqSme6SAq9GmbKc

I'm sorry but I've now watched two videos of you trying "wet on wet" watercolor and I really get the impression that you absolutely hate it. I feel like you're very focused on the loss of control and that it makes you a bit crazy. So I wonder, if you hate doing it, why do it then? Just do what you love, and show us what you know about that.
@ShaydaCampbell7 жыл бұрын
What I really love is experimenting and trying new techniques. As an artist, I never want to stay in one place. Now, I'm a bit of a control freak, and I think a lot of people can relate to that, so I was sort of having a laugh at my own expense. ;)

@safi4566 жыл бұрын
um, no....wet on wet is applying wet paint on wet paper (wet with water, not wet with paint), and wet on dry is applying wet paint on dry paper, not dry paint.
