Wow this foggy effect is what i want to learn... Thank you sir... Plz tell which paper is this???
I was wandering if i could do the same technique on a stretch canvas
@JerrysartaramaArtSupply Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question Arminnie. No, Sterling's fog technique works best on wet watercolor paper. We do sell the Yes! brand of canvases that can accept watercolor. Yes! canvas does accept watercolor paint, but it does not perform in exactly the same way as watercolor paper. I think that the gentleness of Sterling's fog technique might be lost if done on canvas. If you do try out Yes! canvas I would recommend that you prep the surface with a tinny bit of lukewarm soap and water or isopropyl alcohol before applying watercolor paint to the surface. www.jerrysartarama.com/yes-all-media-cotton-canvas-1-1-2-inch-boxes-of-three.

Did you first stretch your paper?
@JerrysartaramaArtSupply3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to get back to you so late Bev. No, Sterling does not stretch his paper.

Sterling, I really dig your vids. fyi Arches is pronounced Arch (French). Also Arches uses gelatin in their size (Vegans be aware). The size can even spoil. Tip: give your Arches paper a sniff test. Rancid paper can cause blank spots. I use Arches and I love it, but this is just something to be aware of. I do not work for nor or am I affiliated with any art product company.

Thanks for the information Frank.

Pronunciation is more like a soft sh / Arsh than hard ch / Arch. Regardless, when people in the US refer to the paper, however one pronounces it, we know what they mean. Let's not detract from the point of the video: fog.
