The caption 4:54 with the ribbon headdress and the mop is literally how Florent dress as a conqueror to invade our hearts.

Hi Florent. Thank you so much for your videos and demonstrations! My painting has really improved with your help. Many aspects of painting would still be a mystery for me without your instruction. Keep up the good work and thank you again!

This is the best discussion on this topic I have seen. Well done Florent. Hands are a difficult thing to paint. Perhaps you can talk about, or demonstrate that?

I have just finished my first painting (if a painting can ever be finished!) and these tips were absolutely invaluable. Thank you so much. Turns out i’m a big brush kind of guy. I let go and used bold strokes to try to convey the overall movement and dynamic of the hair and I have to say I’m amazed at how it turned out.

Hi Florent, what is the stick-like thing you use around 6:41 to prevent your hand from smudging paint that has already been laid down? I see it in a lot of your videos.
@danv10614 жыл бұрын
It’s a mahl stick. You can google it to see what it looks like. Use whatever works for you. American master Schmid uses a cane.

Very nice video. Once Albrecht Durer was asked, give me brush, which you using to paint hair? He said sure.. I use this brush, and this brush too... And gave all his brushes 😁. I use only large brush in my work. I started KZbin channel with oilpainting tutorials. Everybody welcome 🎨

Hello wanted to know if there's a website where i can buy one of your artworks? .....Also wanted to know if you have ever done a video on painting older faces i have a lot of trouble making the wrinkles and lines look realistic they tend to look very animated on my paintings almost comic book like ....I wonder if you would have any tips to fix this?

Great video and lots of useful information. I just have one little correction, I think when you said 'strand' what you meant was 'lock' or 'skein' when you were using the ribbon. A lock is a bunch of hairs gathered together, especially if the hair is curly and separates into individual curls. I could be wrong though if you were referring to individual strands of hair.

So the area between the big brushes and the fine brushes hyperrealism approach is the mop, LOL. That's so funny.

I love it that you made the distinction that there are two ways to paint hair. I feel like most videos only discuss the "big brush, impressionistic, lots of movement" approach, and I'm a "anal-retentive, actually paint the hairs" sort of girl. And the second approach really works well if you're that sort of painter-- but every KZbin video says "don't try to paint individual hairs!"

Great video thanks Florent! Question please “Fat Over Lean”… If, I don’t plan to finish a painting in one day, does this mean I need to apply “Fat Over Lean” rule? Eg. It takes 4 weeks to complete a painting and I plan to paint daily or, at least every second day. When do I start adding fat to the paint? Do I increase the fat daily? or when it is touch dry? Thanks so much!

Florent, what do you think about using the fan brush to paint details after creating the mass of hair ? Et une bise à Albert :)

That's a great option actually. Mixing the two approaches to get a nice balance.

Hair genetics is almost as fascinating as painting hair. If I would have inherited my mothers hair colour, I would have decades before getting gray, but I'm quite sure I'm my father's son in this matter.👨🦳
