One of the best results of watching you paint so beautifully is that it propels me off the couch and into my “studio” to try to do likewise.

I love your videos. They have helped me transition from making portraits in oil to watercolors on paper. They are so different from each other ! I have to say painting portraits in oil is much easier than watercolor. I lost interest in oil , which led me to watercolor portraits and figurative art. As artists you know we have to always be making art. I actually feel unwell if I’m not making something. Art is almost my entire life. Everyday I’m painting and drawing. I’ve rediscovered the joy of drawing figurative pieces and drawing in general. Thank- You so much for making your videos ❤️🥰💕

I love my Monday morning cuppa watching your latest video. I've been doing a portrait drawing most days for the month of Oct to practise my drawing for then to paint them so this was very handy. At the moment I'm stuck in my head that they don't look right but I know practicing is the key and I need to loosen up. Love your videos as always.

Thank you ❤️ practising is key. I saw the biggest change my art after I just pushed myself to finish a watercolour sketchbook 😊 You’ll do that very soon xxx

I always learn so much from your videos. The question I have in my mind as I watched you paint each figure’s hair is: How do you know when to add more, and yet how do you know when to stop? Several times I thought, “Oh that looks nice…she must be finished…” AND THEN you added more! I just held my breath…and it always looked beautiful what you added.

Wonderful video and thank you for all the steps that clarify our thinking as you paint! 🩵 What brushes are you using please? Would you add that information in your videos please? I just bought a silver black velvet #8 round which doesn’t say Escoda on the brush. I do like it.
@drawingsinadrawer
@drawingsinadrawer Ай бұрын
Hello! Thank you. Escoda is another brand. I love my silver black velvet round number 8. I also use Tintoretto brushes, Trekell protégé number 6 round and another brand called Mandrian which I have recently come across. I have a video on here about my fav watercolour brushes ❤️

@@drawingsinadrawer. Thank you for the quick reply! I do so appreciate the clarification of brushes that you like and use. I also ordered an Escoda rigger size #2, but the hairs weren’t firm and seemed used to me. This brush was on your recommendation and I’ll call today to see if they have another to send me. Your paintings are gorgeous and I love the fact that they are loose with feeling and life!!! 🩵

I like how you did the hair both dry on dry and wet on wet. These girlsa are so pretty. Do you have any tips on how to draw the face when it is tilted up that most of the chin is showing?
@drawingsinadrawer
@drawingsinadrawer Ай бұрын
Hello. My tip would be to notice how all the features change. For one you can see the nostrils completely and the mouth will look very close to the nose. Also eyes and forehead might appear smaller, depending on how far back the head tilted. I hope this helps xxx
