Big yes to more kill teams! It's the same for my group in terms of how we engage with the hobby, painting huge armies is a lot when I like spending a lot of time on each miniature, things like Killteam/Warcry are so much better for that (and the minis have a lot more personality too!)

Dude yes! So hard to find Harakoni Warhawk tuts online, they're my favorite. Your method for the armor plating is incredible, I love stippling armor as well but doing it this way is really clever and quite a time saver

It would be amazing to see more kill team on the channel. Especially squads like this where some simple kitbashing and converting can make for a really cool squad. Also love the paint job. The small flash of colour did really give them the 1ft away vibe. Great use of a splash colour. Really draws you in to want to look closer, which will pay off when seeing the armour work.

Always love to see kitbashing appear in a vid! Best of luck with the stormtrooper conversion, I hope to see it in a future video. I love the 3e stormtrooper aesthetic, so for my aquilons I removed a lot of the trim - shaved off on the shoulders etc, filled out the chest to a smooth plate - and combined with a printed head swap I'm really happy with the result. Really love how you've achieved your vision for the warhawks, the choice of parts is quite thoughtful and I think its a brilliant combination. Really goes to show how much of a difference the head makes, but I also really dig the combo of kasrkin and scion parts. The tan armour is beautiful. Also appreciate the candid experimentation/just documenting your process, I think this video has a great mix of tutorial and documentary content which I really enjoyed. Enjoyed the brief mention of Elysians - planning to bash a squad to be a veteran guardsman kill team to go with my aquilons!

Great Job! I do love this way of creating a more textured look on the armor in favor of the super creamy blends that many people go for. It does look great on space marines as well but can be rather laborious over entire squads.

I have to say I really like this scheme, and I also think the way you do basing is fantastic and really gives that old forge world sort of look. I also share the sentiment of creating bases how you envision the planet/campaign the model is on, rather than purely a contrast to the model.

That is exactly what I use kill team for. Way back in 2007 on the heels of my Thousand sons army I discovered the Eisenstein and its many retconed crew numbers over its history and thought it would be super cool to get Space marines in older marks of armour and build the 70 guys onboard this ship (This was around when GW Retconned it to be like 69 Death guard and 1 other guy) But At the time Heresy era armour marks were expensive and I was a poor univerrsity student with no way to buy forge world to make this happen. When I started kill team that Idea was one of the first things that Came back into my head, So I grabbed myself 2 of the boxes of Mark III that were available at the time and set about making my own Non Eisenstein group of Loyalists who survived to escape Isstvan III. "Memoirs of Isstvan" Creating 20 Terran born Astartes 5 from each of the four legions and building them for Kill team 2018. Before I could even get a single game in KT21 came out and I had to run them as Deathwatch to maintain as many loadouts as I could (Losing only 1 World eater with Jump pack and 2 Chainswords and 1 Luna Wolf with Storm shield and Bolter.) Then I saw the cool new Escher gang models and said "I have to paint some of these but I don't really want to play necromunda" so I made a chaos team with Escher gang Chaos cultists and Loyalist Alpha legion who use them to lure out Eclesiarchy ( The eclesiarchy are traitors because they follow Leticio Divinitatus which is written by Lorgar Aurellian) Then I saw the cool Death guard heroes models and Had to make a Death guard Kill team as opponents for "Memoirs of Isstvan" Then Legionaries came out and rather than add them to my Alpha legion I said "I'm finally going to paint some Word Bearers" Hive fleet gave me an excuse to finally paint the Gene Stealers from my Space hulk And my Pathfinders team is in its lore on the hunt to find the lost Cadre that has gone missing which are the original Tau army I had but I sold.

Mad robot minis does a lot of custom guard heads (old stormtrooper heads, Jacobian nobles, few from old art). Maybe they have some dedicated warhawk heads? Stormtrooper ones are called irdoni, would be good for Ur inquisition project

This was a great video Henry! I was planning on selling my Tempestus Aquillons but seeing this video inspired me to build them instead. I am going to gift them to my Dad so we can play some games of Kill Team hopefully! I really like the way you built up the armor panels. You can get some Bartoline odourless white spirit if you want fast drying but no smell. I got some at B&Q but not sure they still stock it.

I'm currently working on a combined codex force (Imperial Agents (for inquisition, deathwatch, greyknights, and sisters), AstraMilitarum (inq stormtrooper regiment), and if the DW gets a nice update this Dec.). Guard models represent the Inquisition StormTrooper regiment, Inquisitorial agent characters, and the watch representing my custom astartes chapter (name pending). Can't wait to see what your cooking up.

i use very very little of both paint and spirits. When finished i soak them up with a piece of kitchen paper and dispose of them in my normal bin.
