That looks awesome. I have a 2011 with around 62000 miles and mine are faded. This gives me a bit more motivation to take care of mine so my Jeep will look mint. Thank you for the upload.

Good on you, young lady! You took the hard way, and did it right. Of all the fender painting vids, you removed the fenders. Nice!

Thank you! It definitely takes a lot longer to do it that way, but they look nicer in the end.

Thank you for an excellent video. You have motivated me to do the project! The "how to handle" the one flare that could not be removed was good to know "a real world situation" that can and will happen sometimes. Carry On Madam!

Great video! The comments were so helpful. The whole amount of time was helpful to know as well . I was thinking about just removing mine to paint but I couldn’t find a video like that so thank you for doing the work!

Good job! It’s time to do mine. The primer is showing thru. Your video has convinced me to mask the painted body rather than remove the fenders. Way to go.
@meganharn3094 жыл бұрын
Yeah, go for it! Removing the fenders took foreverrrrr! And some of the bolts broke in the process. So next time I'll probably just leave them on while I paint. Good luck to you, I hope yours turn out well!

That looks great! I need to do this on my wife's 2001 Jeep. I ordered new fenders at Christmas and they still haven't come. Darn Covid. One side of her Jeep is really faded - even Back to Black won't work. So I think painting is the only way. Not sure about taking the fenders off but looks like it would be best in the long run. Gotta do her hard top too. You have a beautiful Jeep! Thanks for posting.

I promise you taking them off is harder mask them

Great Job! I think it’s better to remove the fenders for a complete overhaul like you did. You did it correctly.

I think so too! It takes more time and it's a lot more work, but the result ends up much better!

Hello, I was wondering what type of paint did you use, I just did my Jeep Grill Gloss Black with a clear coat. Did you put a clear coat on your fenders and do you feel you have to?

I applaud your effort👍 however, that paint just never stays on for too long eventually it comes off you could have gotten the same effect by simply putting a heat gun on it or a gas propane torch and slowly going over it it would have blackened it and made it look shiny and new again, just food for thought for the next one you do😉
@ovskateshop Жыл бұрын
Not true heat gun looks like crap and doesnt last at all.

Did you have to send these at all and it's at all and what grit sandpaper did you use please comment back at back thank you very much
@meganharn3093 жыл бұрын
I did sand them a bit to get the paint to stick. Unfortunately I do not remember what grit I used. I would start with a finer sandpaper and go from there!

Just watched this (4y later) wondering how that paint held up
@meganharn3092 ай бұрын
Really well! The fenders had no issues. The running boards peeled slightly after a while, but nothing major and easy to touch up.
@LearnRobotics3 жыл бұрын
How do they look now? Still worth doing?
@meganharn3093 жыл бұрын
Definitely still worth it! I've been through lots of mud, snow, rain, forests, offloading, and washes and they are holding up really well!

what paint did you use? What sheen?

Is the paint chipping at all now? I wanna do this but I’m nervousss
@meganharn3093 жыл бұрын
Not at all! I did this almost a year ago and the paint has held up just fine! I've been off roading several times and it's been through many washes as well. Let me know how it goes for you!

That cat looked dead. Only thing notable about this video
@Theshoota4203 жыл бұрын
You need to put some good shocks and tires on that thing instead of painting the flares
