Using a black wash as a color coat is a very unique idea and the results speak for themselves. It is very effective and the model looks great! I will try this myself on my next U.S. tank. Thanks for sharing this, it is a big help.

Nice touch using the wash to outline the camo pattern. And saving time having to highlight! Any chance this could be done with a German camo pattern?

I've been thinking, by replacing the base color with a sand brown and the black wash with a green wash, could this same technique be used to paint British desert camo (like the pattern seen in the Grant tutorial)?

This might be a very stupid question- but the local hobby shops dont offer most of the paints you have used, but local DIY shops offer enamels, lacquers and alkyd paints . I have found their alternative- think its possible to use the paints directly? 800ml for 3£ so its very cheap, yet it can be thinned extremely without losing colours(have tried a paint that was very very old-11 yrs old which was exactly like the brand new acrylics but dries extremely slow) P.S guess ill try it, ordering PsC kits and a Warlord house, water-based enamels will be the washes.

Grade A work, but I have one question, would watered down paint work the same way as the black wash to get the camo bits or would it not work? Thanks
