Amazing as usual. You are truly a Master Craftsman! Can you tell us where to get that very cool soldering iron? Thanks!

Thank you Mark! 🙏🙏 I am glad that you're enjoying the shows. :) The soldering iron is available locally here in India, but it is Made in China (isn't everything!), so I guess you might find something similar in your location also. It's a 90W, digital soldering iron with ceramic heating element. Here is the India seller so that you get some more idea: www.amicikart.com/product/amicitools-90w-professional-grade-digital-adjustable-temperature80-500c-soldering-iron-with-extra-5-soldering-bits-stand Cheers! I am really glad to know that and I am hoping that if one day you decide to build a little diorama all this will be helpful. I am on the other hand not a kit builder, but I am hooked to scale model secific channels - my two favorite channels are Andy's Hobby Workshop and Night Shift, I am sure you're following them too. Thank you Sparky and good to see you here! Hope you are doing well and getting some good modeling time to keep your snity in this crazy new world. Yeah, I think the 2 sided tape makes up for the extra effort that you put in painting the models. I found that the spray painting the tracks also saves some time for details achieved compared to painting it by hand after laying the track. Cheers! Kaustav

Hi I have been using Copydex to hold the woodland scenics underlay down and the track it’s latex based so ( pin in place dries quite quickly) it holds it all in place it takes a little longer than tape , but has the advantage of time down the line you want to make changes as most model railroader do at some point, you can lift the track and underlay by inserting a thin screwdriver underneath and roll it in your fingers and it will start the lift and just follow along steadily and it will lift with no damage and it can all be reused it’s not a criticism just a thought 💭, from experience, in all a great video and very informative and very helpful to an awful lot of modelers. All the very best wishes from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧
@TrainsandDioramas
@TrainsandDioramas 4 жыл бұрын
Never knew about that and THANK YOU for letting me know. I have to find an equivalent of that here in India and experiment with it. Yes, the biggest downside of two sided tape is possibly the enforced 'set it and forget it' aspect which might not be the ideal solution if someone is playing around or building a large /proper model railroad. I am very much a small layout /modular person (apartment modeler), so track plans hardly change once it done, but the ability to rework on the track is an important aspect for many model railroaders in the initial phase of building. Thanks agian for stopping by. Cheers! Kaustav

Hi. Great video. I plan to try and use you track painting technique, so could I ask you to detail the paints you've used (including the URLs, colour, type, e.g. acrylic/enamel/car) so that I can search for something similar in the UK. Thanks.
@TrainsandDioramas
@TrainsandDioramas 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I am glad that this was helpful. I've shown all the paints I used in the video itself - you might have to pause it to get the details - but basically, all you need are these: Flat Grey Primer to prime the surface, light gray (for concrete texture), Dark Grey (for shading), and Brown (for rust on the rails). I use common acrylic spray paint - the cheapest types that graffiti artists use. The names of the color and companies vary a lot from place to place so I tend not to be too specific, but I'm sure a simple search on google /amazom /local e-store with the keywords I mentioned above will give you plenty of options - they are all standard types and commonly available. Hope this helps. Cheers! Kaustav

are you based in India or US? where do you find model railway supply in India?
@TrainsandDioramas
@TrainsandDioramas 4 жыл бұрын
I've been importing from abroad for a long time as it is the only way you can get quality things in India. However, apart from the trains I mostly scratchbuild everything - takes a hell lot of time, but it is satisfying in the end. Cheers!

@@TrainsandDioramas Yes that's the problem if you are based in India. we have to import mostly everything. but I must say you have been doing it great. in first impression I thought you are based in US by looking at things you are using. its a great hobby. keep it up.
