Hello, great video. If you or anyone wants to highlight those cooling fins after painting ,leave the masking on and rub the fins back to metal or even polish them then spray over with a heat proof clear laquer, .spray clear laquer on chrome to keep the rust off too.

What do you think about diamond cutting the fins at this point ? I’ve been thinking of doing this to my 99 dyna super glide, but was apprehensive , but the only other question is did the paint stay on ? Oh n why do Australians always sound like you can trust them? Haha.. not sure about the Aussies trustworthy voice.. 🙏🙏🙏 I really don't know much about the diamond cutting so I can't say anything about that. The paint did stay on as long as U buy decent spray paint and U prepare the surface well I don't think U will have a problem.

When you rode it after and the block started heating up did it burn any of the paint off or have any type of burning smell at all?

Nah it didn't. No smell.. And the paint still looks good. No damage done yet as far as I can see

Same here .. I am not that good with tools to drop the engine out.. it's a good little weekend project that's not to hard.. just make sure U clean all of the surface that will be painted thoroughly

I've done about 4000 kms and the paint is holding up well.. i do keep it covered with a tarp and undercover when not riding it maybe that helps a bit

Those covers come right off don’t they? Why didn’t you just take them off to paint rather than masking stuff and trying to paint them on the motor?

Yes the covers do come off but they are a real ball weaker to get o and off. So i wanted to show a way u can paint it with removing the minimum. It was a time thing didn't want to be there hours trying take off parts. I think it came up alright. 👍😎😊
