I been a carpenter for 30 years now and a all around fix anything type of guy those multifunction tools rock great tool. I would suggest trying the cordless dewalt to its variable speed which is so freaking helpful in a lot of ways. As for the head bolts I would get some locking chrome caps with the little Alan screws they look good and lots of different styles. Great video keep pumping out the helpful content.

Yes they were ozzie! A good way to know of any fin that was polished at the factory is if they are smooth, if they weren't polished at the factory they will still be rough from the casting of the jugs in the factory. Thanks for watching brother, have a great week. mad Mike

This looks like what I need to do on the fins of my kick-around Rebel that has been sirring around for about 2 1/2 years. Will this work on area behind the cylinders that has that powdery aluminum corrosion from sitting?

Flitz sells 2 and 3 inch diameter buff balls you put on a fast drill, corded or cordless. They don't get into the fins the way this thing does, but they do get into any small nook and cranny, and they have no exposed metal at the tip or anywhere. The small ones also are mounted on a longer metal rod. So you can reach pretty deep into the bike easily, and they do a fantastic job polishing. They're washable so at least with Flitz own polish you can reuse them many times. No easier way I know of to polish spokes, either, if you have old school spoked wheels (they also have larger diameter options for more generic polishing of larger surfaces). The very low profile of this design is nice though, for doing things like engine fins.

I have seen bikes that the owner did this mirror finish work on the engine side cases. This was a popular customize job on the old XS 650 Yamaha engines. There was a problem when making the engine look so good…. it really makes an older motorcycle look like crap. It’s like having a filthy car with two brand new chrome bumpers on it without washing the car. Or just washing the windows on a muddy car… you have to be sure to Put the effort into the whole vehicle

Question: Is there a clear coat on stock Rocker Boxes or are they just good chrome?
@SweetScoots
@SweetScoots 10 ай бұрын
I do not believe that there is clear coat on the chrome, but a quick way to find out is to take this amzn.to/3uzQ2Ip and rub an area with a microfiber towel and if it turns color at all, you will know that it is not clear coated. Hope this helps, thanks for watching, have a great week. mad Mike
