Tools and Materials:
Work Boots: rockroosterfoo...
Spray Gun: Matco RL80
1/4" Fine Line (outside of stripe): 3M Vinyl Fine Line Masking Tape
1/8" Fine Line (inside of stripe): 3M Vinyl Fine Line Masking Tape
Red Scuff Pad: Mirka 18-118-447 4 1/2-Inch by 9-Inch Scuff Pads (Red)
Yellow Masking Tape: 3M Automotive Refinishing Tape (over the 1/4" fine line)
Paint: Code GM: WA8624 Olympic White - Nason Ful-Thane Single Stage Urethane
Reducer: Nason 441-21 Urethane Reducer
Mix Ratio: 8 parts paint : 1 part activator : 2-3 parts reducer (more or less depending on your needs)
PSI: 25 psi at the gun
Ventilation: Box fan under garage door on low
Mask: 3M 07193 Dual Cartridge Respirator Organic Vapor

I used the Bacon clear for jamming clear. For the body DC3000 PPG for low cost work 25 caliber clear for cheap clear it was good. I.m a certified DuPont PPG painter 19 year's now retired. Guns I like for base SATA jetB HVLP for clear SATA Jet90 1.4 paint clear 1.6

Very well done video. Do you have any tips to blend in the ridge between the two paint colors. The white will stick out the thickness of the paint past the thickness of the blue. Thanks Tom

You can keep the strip light - like two thin coats. Clear the whole thing. Wet sand and buff. The more clear and sanding, the smoother the transition. Jerry

I pulled the tape that night before bed (had my pjs on if you notice). The paint dried for about 6-8 hours. You can do it the next day to be safe though. Jerry

@@LakesideAutobody 350z or 370z are a blast and can be found reasonably priced but they are a potent V6. S550 mustangs are cool but the 3V V8 is kind of a bastard engine. I hate GM (govn't motors).

The next day you are safe. It can be done even sooner with a bit of heat or heat lamps.

Nice! Have you worked with pps cup system? I bought a starter kit (chinese knock off) and adaptors for my lvlp guns. So far, really like it. Can spray upside down with no worries if I need to. I don't paint every day, so its affordable in that regard. I will soon be adding a flat black stripe to the budget Fox convertible, so timely video

I have not but have seen it used before and looks like that's the answer to no drips. I had a friend that bought a new Fox Mustang back in the 80's and gave me a ride 5.0 / stick - that was one of the fastest cars I ever took a ride in. Nice cars when they are taken car of.

Hi 73 - I dabbed it with a soft paint brush while still wet to flatten it out a bit and buried it with clear. Sanded it out a bit before painting the stripe. Nice to hear from you - got to get over to your channel been real busy lately - doing my bathroom over :)

With a hardener in the paint you can go ahead and stripe the next day. To be real safe though, it's best to give it a day or two. Nice to hear from you as always Icar.

I always pull it before it gets too hard. I pulled that about 5-6 hours after spraying it. I just feel that it cuts through the paint better. Never really had a stripe peel off either way but... It's just preference. You an certainly pull it the next day to be safe. I get a bit impatient. You have a good weekend too Al :)

@@instrumentation-oy3qj That color is absolutely awesome "Kona Blue" I painted a 73 Mach 1 back in the late 80's - yellow with the black stripes on the side + flat black hood (paint for the graphics). That's one cool looking car when it's set up right.
