5:22 do you pull and stretch the tape at all or just enough to stay straight? I would've loved more technique tips in the video
@CreatexColors2 жыл бұрын
To keep line width consistent, only pull tape enough to straighten it, not to stretch it. Thank you.
@janeblogs3242 жыл бұрын
@@CreatexColors I've pulled too hard before, the tape would spring back and fail to adhere. The tape stretch also made the width narrower in the middle.

question on pre-paint wax and grease remover on multi-layer like this... at 22:17 (about) you said you recommend a solvent-based product, because a water-based product will soften the base coat.. what do you recommend if you are working on a product that cannot tolerate solvent-based products (my case specifically, working on a motorcycle helmet)...
@CreatexColors3 жыл бұрын
A motorcycle helmet can accept standard solvent-based degreasers without affecting the helmet's surface or structural integrity. Try cleaning with a degreaser such as PPG SX320. Than you.

As winter sets in around the country, do you have any temperature recommendations when spraying these paints. Especially the candies.

Please review our application guide and technical data sheets available at www.creatextech.com. We always recommend painting at 70 deg.F (60 deg.F minimum). Thank you.

Nice, why no wet sanding at the clear stage.
@CreatexColors2 жыл бұрын
We recommend dry sanding; wet sanding a water-based clear such as UVLS soon after it has dried hard enough to sand is not good for the clear, just as using the reducer of a 2k clear to wet-sand it soon after applying it. Dry sanding is much better as the dried clear is still curing, and water reverts that process. If dry enough, "damp" sanding can be done in that water is used a lubricant while sanding, yet not allowing the water to pool & sit on the clear. For more, please refer to our Hard-Surface Application guide, and UVLS Tech Sheet, available at www.creatextech.com. Thank you.

Thanks for some great instruction, Chris. You strike me as a natural teacher, and that makes it easier for us all to learn. On a side note, I enjoyed the video in part because I know your doppelganger! He's a relative named Primoz, who lives in Skofja Loka, Slovenia. It would be fun to see the two of you side by side. :) It was a bit weird watching the video, though, because you look so much like Primoz, but your English is so much better, and you have no accent. It was a bit of a brain twister for me. :)

Dude this perfect what happen if I add candy black over this to make it darker?
@CreatexColors4 жыл бұрын
candy2o Black can always be used as a tint to colors to create a darker tone. Remember, once candy2o is added to the mix, bleeding is a potential so a coat of 4040 Bleed Checker may be required before top-coating with more color, createxcolors.com/additives-thinners-cleaners-more/additives/4040.html. Thank you.
