Hand-painted leather purses are easily sealed with any sealer for leather and eco-leather, for example, Mod Podge or Angelus finisher. Just make sure that the custom-painted bag design is completely dry before applying any sealing.
For this tutorial, we have used Artistro acrylic paints, Artistro fine-tipped acrylic markers and Mod Podge sealer.

If you paint thickly onto unprimed leather like this, it will peel off quickly. You have to prepare the leather and paint thinly, then seal with varnish.

I have a cute wispy watercolor kind of floral print aldo bag but it has camel handles, bottom and zipper tab in that same color that I really don't care for. I wonder if this would work in a blue or something being dark enough to cover it. It's vegan leather.

I tried multiple blues to find something ashy enough and it seems to have worked 🎉 just need to topcoat it. I'm using this from now on for bags that have camel accents instead of taupe or something else.
