Every one of your projects gets more and more impressive. I love the subtle details.

This one had some frustrating moments, so it was a relief that it turned out in the end. Thanks!

Fantastic result! Your painting is even more impressive one each new thing you make.

Thanks. It looked terrible for a while, so I just kept experimenting and finally found a look that worked.

Thank you. It definitely needed something to dress it up a bit.

Heya, I just wanted to say thank you for this video. Props and painting are not my strong traits and this helped me figure out what I was doing on a prop sword. I hope you have a great day 💖

wow, you get super clean prints off your ultimaker! the paint job is so labor intensive, but as always every minute you spend on it shows. its always lovely to see your patient approach, and as you explain so well, every layer is there for a reason. the result is amazing! at the start of the video i thought you'd just put a wooden handle on it. hmmmm, what next? Matt's signet ring or the ruby hilted dagger perhaps, or maybe a Callandor with LEDs illuminating it from the inside. you could dress up the door to your room as the tilted door frame terangrial portal to the fox and lizard people. or a diorama of the white tower and dragonmount would be really cool too. however, i think it'd be good good for your channel if you maybe made a prop from ready player one, which seems to be such a big hit at the moment. i'm taking a short break from the wheel of time to read it. i'm sure there are some really cool concepts in it, and a few big tech channels (like tested [adam savage] i think) did videos on how some of them are already becoming a reality with VR and whatnot.

It's a great printer for sure. Those would be interesting to attempt. And that's really smart thinking. Thanks for the suggestions!

once again super cool! I have watched the KZbin Channel "Tested" for a while, and your "Builds" look just as good as there's. super fun to watch!

i tried doing this but the watered down acrylic is just sitting on top of the spray paint, its gone once its wiped, why is that?:(
@LindyDesignLab3 жыл бұрын
Too much water and it will bead up over a glossy base. Possibly could try some fine steel wool to give the first coat of acrylic something to grab onto, not sure of that might help.

what program are you using to modify the axe handle? If one wanted to make the handle shorter or longer?
@LindyDesignLab11 ай бұрын
Working from the original design history/sketches in Fusion 360 is how I would do it, but from just the stl you would need to do something like cut it into parts in Meshmixer and scale just the length of some of it without affecting the joint area.

Question! Does this axe hold up? I guess what I’m saying is it strong and do you recommend vacuum forming swords and guns?
@LindyDesignLab4 жыл бұрын
I'd probably stick to 3d printing/foam/casting unless you have a specific application where vac forming makes sense. It wasn't the easiest way to make an axe.

For a "how to" video, this sounds more like an expert that wants to sound like an expert to other experts, and less like a tutorial for newcomers.
