This is absolutely gorgeous :o My art teacher would have killed me though had I used black paint to darken any colour. I found a dark, blue tinted green workes wonders on red and gives a nice purple-ish hue to the red you often see in shadows. Then again, it's probably not noticeable on a 3mm rose. Keep up the good work :)

I know I'm a bit late, but this is gorgeous! even though I will never be able/patient to draw this ... One much easier techniques is to just paint some blobs of the main colour of the rose on your nail(s) and then quickly grab a lighter and darker colour + brush/toothpick and swirl around. That will not look super realistic, but beautiful and much easier 😊.
