Hello Mr. Brenner, very nice work. But why you don't use cobalt blue or ultramarine blue for the sky?
@brennerfineart
@brennerfineart 5 ай бұрын
Thank you :-))) Why should I use cobalt or ultramarine blue? Phthalo Blue is in my opinion kind of the ideal basic blue that allows to get to any blue colour that you have on your reference material by just adding in some other colours. Btw - I use a palette of only 7 colours for all of my paintings...and I never had any problem mixing any given colour: Titanium White, Lemon Yellow, Raw Sienna, Cadmium Red, Phthalo Blue, Dioxazine Purple and Lamp Black. Really enough to get any blue shade or any other colour that I want :-)))

First off stunning. So realistic. Sadly I only have acrylic paint but do have a retarder that I can add to slow down the drying time. Now my question is. Would what your doing also work with acrylic paint with using the retarder in the acrylic and also with doing smaller areas because of the faster drying time of acrylic. If that would work I'd be over the moon. By far you're the best in in showing how to make realistic clouds. looking forward to your response. Thank you.
@brennerfineart
@brennerfineart 10 ай бұрын
Thank you so much Michelle :-))) I have to admit, that I pretty quickly switched from oils to acrylics when I started to paint well over 30 years ago...I have no experience in using a retarder for acrylics on top. But I still think it should work, give it a try :-))) If it is not going too well you can switch to oils...they are SO much easier to work with than those acrylics...you have SO much more time to blend...the colours have a better consistency and they stay true to their wet appearance. And no need for any harsh medium, I solely use linseed oil to thin down my oil colours. Would really give you the advice to at least thinking about switching to oils...really really really WAY better than acrylics :-)))

Yes, oiling out the painting surface is for this kind of material (HDF plates) important to prevent the oil from the colour to get sucked into the surface too quickly

@brennerfineart
@brennerfineart 10 ай бұрын
Ohne Zeitraffer, inklusive Farbmischprozess.

Sehr unfair. Spreche doch einfach in deiner Muttersprache.

Excellent physical process tutorial…please moderate you voiceover. Possibly need to write what your trying to say. It sounds like you are talking as you paint. Your brain is partly focusing on the painting process and partly on talking. Maybe voice over your painting process. You are an excellent tutor but your voiceover needs attention. It isn’t your accent, that’s quite endearing. Excellent painting I always wondered how the effect of clouds was achieved!
@brennerfineart
@brennerfineart 9 ай бұрын
Thank you :-))) The voiceover...this is difficult...a real voiceover perfectly matching what is happening on the screen would take hours to time, film, cut...I do still do work 75% at a publishing house and do the KZbin channel as kind of a hobby...so simply no time to do it perfectly. On top, I am not a native speaker (my german accent is VERY obvious ;-))) so this makes it even harder to find the right words at the right time as I record the voiceover in one go...but I will try to improve!
@iancurrie9740

Excellent work but let down by poor presentation. Please stop saying ‘kind of’ and ‘more or less’. These words add nothing and with constant repetition, are grating.
@brennerfineart
@brennerfineart 10 ай бұрын
Thank you :-))) The presentation...just to put things into perspective...I still work part time at a publishing house to make both ends meet...means, I do not have the time to write a script for the videos...so I have to fill 10, 15 minutes in a foreign language (its obvious I am NOT a native english speaking person ;-)...and this is not an easy thing...some words repeat themselves automatically as I try to to illustrate with words what I do on the canvas...so it is pretty repetitive at times...but I try to improve. And one day I can perhaps really make a living solely from my art. And THEN I can script the videos :-)))
