@@ThePaintingCoach ok great! Every time I use varnish it fades the highlights out. So was thinking I wouldn’t varnish this one but don’t want the painting running off overtime.. 😬 is that something you have noticed with yours if you don’t varnish? Or is varnishing not really necessary ?
@ThePaintingCoach Жыл бұрын
I don't play, so I am not handling them all the time - eubbing paint off can be a risk - but remember, varnish is just another layer of paint - it will also rub off over time. Different varnishes will do different things - the best advice I'd give to test this out is paint three spare parts exactly the same and put a different type of varnish on each one to fond out what effect you like the most 👍🏻

super cool model you made there. a lot of gold 🙈 thx for the vid 🤘🤘🤘 since my black legion i prefer the variant, retributor armor, then liberator gold, with agrax earthshade once or twice over it and finally here and there the edges here and there with some stormhost silver highlights here and there. somehow gives a cool dirty and worn effect. robute comes with the Imperium subscription. But since I'm a passionate Blood Angels player, I'm going to craft a showcase diorama with him and the first three marines. all four models miss nicely worn armor. sort of grim dark Blood Angels. let's see if that will work with blue too. again a lot of tweezers swam work.

did you use a zenithal prime on the armor with the white or all over?
@ThePaintingCoach4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment - I used white on the sword to make it easier to paint - and some splashed onto the armour

So I am just getting into miniature painting, and am having some difficulty thinning paints to the right consistency. What do you recommend for the right ratio?
@Alex-re3qm4 жыл бұрын
I would like this info aswell
@ThePaintingCoach4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! In general with normal paint it's 2 parts paint to one part water. I use only a tiny bit with metallics. I also use a wet palette that helps keep the paint hydrated. I'll do a video on how I thin my paint soon so keep an eye out One other tip is to make sure you don't have too much paint on your brush

How many hours does something like this take to complete at such a high level?

This was probably 8-10 hrs painting - but a lot of that is down to the intricacies etc of all the gold

The Painting Coach Hi! I popped back in just to ask: is it VITAL to undercoat them all with the sprays or does it not really matter?
@ThePaintingCoach4 жыл бұрын
You'll need to put at least one down as a primer - or use brush on primer if that's what you have To paint the sword the way I have you'll then need to paint it white first before you use the contrast on it - hope that helps

Yo - just getting into painting after a looooooong hiatus. Great video, I've got this dude ready as my next project. I use GW brushes but I can never keep them on point, what brushes do you use/recommend? Thanks

Welcome back to the hobby! I use Winsor and Newton series 7, size 1 and 0 - I think there is a link in the description - i use a red grass games synthetic brush for metals Good luck with the project!
