You generally want to apply about 2-4 thin layers of paint.

Too many coats of paint mate. You should have laid down some light grey coats 1st then white. You could have achieved that white in 6 or 7 coats. Cheers for the video. The sliders look sweet✌️

the paint is specifically made for applying like this. trust me it lasts!

As @optima FOOTWORKS mentioned, the paint won't easily crack/peel. The critical step in customizing your shoes is to prepare the surface area well. That will allow the paint to adhere and will give you lasting results.
