I personally think this is the best T'au sept Fire Warrior painting tutorial i've been able to find online, very easy to follow, quick and to the point and a fantastic end result 👍

I've dipped my toe back into 40k this week after a full decade out. Found the remnants of an old Tau Battleforce box circa 5th edition in the attic, and this guide is perfect! Really looking forward to getting a fresh set of paints and giving this one a shot

Best of luck with it! I was the same - my restart point was a game called Silver tower a number of years ago 👍👍

This is an absolutely phenomenal tutorial. Particularly watching how you do the brush work. It's also nice to see a handful of errors in the video itself, since that's the reality of the hobby. They are corrected and your result mini is both gorgeous and realistically attainable by even a beginner if they are patient and doing basic thinning.

Holy cow, this is amazing! I just picked Tau to go with, and have been kind of nervous to paint. But, this really helped with the colors listed and just all the info. Thank you!

Phenomenal tutorial, using this to paint up the Kill Team right now. Probably going to deviate a bit and give the leader a white helmet to make them stand out a bit more.

I've bought my first ever WH40k box, the T'au Fire Warriors. I'm following this tutorial, because I have the ochre T'au army in my head since I was a kid. I'm painting it with Vallejo, anyway ;)

Good clean tutorial mate. love the length of the vid too. I just wanted a quick ref to see if i was going mad. Just did a squad of ten fire warriors which have taken me ages- Viorla type scheme not so forgiving. Subbed.

My mans used like 30 different colors for this model! I'm starting my first ever miniatures this week a Tau fire warrior set. I'm going with a brown and desert theme that will look similar to this so I hope it looks half as good as this :)

I'm painting my very first minis and I chose some Tau robots. It's quite difficult to get to some black underneath areas and I was wondering if there's any way to attach the arms later. If not, I'll have to be extar careful and repaint the mistakes.
@shruggingatlasminiatures2 жыл бұрын
You could stick the arms to something like a paper clip to do that. However for troops it would take ages to finish a squad, so id suggest just building them fully and not worrying about the small mistakes 👍👍

Really amazing work, I am struggle with the color scheme,but finally have courage to do after you video. Could I ask if I can use white scar or black as primer? Thanks in advance
@shruggingatlasminiatures5 ай бұрын
White scar probably better choice as the brown/tans wouldn't cover very well over black

I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong, when I apply the paint, I can still see the chaos prime behind the Tau ochre, not hard but you can see it. I’m only just starting but I wanna do it right, please help🫠
@shruggingatlasminiatures2 жыл бұрын
Couple of things there that might be of use - covering over black is difficult with most colours, and tau light ochre is quite a light paint - it is also a “layer” paint, which means it is thinner (has less pigment) than a “base paint” Two options would be either start from a lighter basecoat (white,grey, tan) and use tau light ochre. Or work from the black, but paint a base coat of xv88 first, which is a base paint and would cover the black better Hope it helps!

How would you go about this if you were going to do a farsighted enclave. Painting about the only thing I can’t seem to figure out.
@shruggingatlasminiatures Жыл бұрын
Not sure to be honest! I think I’ve a few more tau lying around - I may do a tutorial in the future on that

How do you thin your paints?
@shruggingatlasminiatures Жыл бұрын
I’m a big fan of a wet palette, to start. Then just water - handy thing about the palette is you can add a little bit of water at a time and see how it flows
@bernardthegoat9067 Жыл бұрын
Alright thanks

I notice some of the paints here are listed as “Games Workshop (layer)” but only seem to be available as base paints, are you just referring to how you use them on the models when you call them layer or base?
@yurigagarine69985 ай бұрын
He did make mistakes. Abaddon black is base paint.
