Boy was I lucky today on this one!! that's exactly what I needed for a mermaid silhouette that I'm doing . she's jumping up backwards really romantic looking I needed a background like that thanks Joni You give me so much confidence in the way you teach .it's like I feel like I'm there , especially when you say 'you guys' I sometimes get so relaxed listening to your voice .I like your voice better than music I almost go to sleep ,in a good way well imatter of fact I have went to sleep on a few. Of course I go back and finish it again love it love it

Joni where do you get the Artist Acrylic neon paints? I kept looking but have not found them, thank you.

If it had a lot more of neon pink in it and a bit less of the sun, then it would have looked like a pic I took a few years back an early winter morning (it´s soo vibrant and beautiful that it looks photoshopped or that I´ve put a filter on it or something) I´ve tried to paint it before, but it never looked right since I didn´t have any neon paints and didn´t quite know how to go about it, but now with my beloved Holbein neon paints, I think I can bring my pic to life in a painting, with the guidens from how you painted this one (a absolute stunner btw) Feels like a 3 year bundle of frustration just got solved :D 💜 It was so cold that morning (-35-40c) that my phone froze every other minute and I had to restart it, but the sunrise was so magic, so I just had to, and since it´s by the water, I finally got to hear that magic sound the ice makes when it shifts...If we get a good winter again, and I´m able to fumble around in the dark with my injured back, I´m set on making it down there again and take more photos! gorgeous at wintertime, but it´s not that bad in the summer either :) Thank you for sharing this beauty :) and sorry if I overshared....just got so exited! :D 💜

Hi Joni. Another brilliant piece! I noticed that you were using Arteza paints in parts of this. How do you get on with them? Hi Kayla, I prime/prep my canvas with acrylic gesso first. Once dry, I added the yellow..☺️

Thanks Marcia! Dry gesso first before beginning your painting. It creates a protective barrier before the acrylic paint goes on. Keeps it vibrant and from sinking into the canvas and dulling over time. It’s the ultimate primer
