You know the paint job on the original didn't bother me, it was the mini sort of floating above the lava base. Your new version has it all blended together and looks much more natural.

I totally agree. The base was the big culprit but I figured that I wanted to do a fire study and also expand my skills for painting fire a bit more than drybrushing. Still though, a good way to make a fire elemental in like 5 min! ;) Thanks for the comment! :D

I liked it before but I love it now. Great job mate. The contrast from white to yellow in the eyes and at the base tricked my eyes into thinking it was real light and I found myself squinting.

You always think of turning it into a fun thing, as everyone else I laughed during that intro. And a very nice new paintjob, the base was really creative and you absolutely outdid yourself this time, can't stress that enough!

After watching the intro I was going to say that you shouldn't have to repaint as this series is about getting unpainted minis done, however you have done such a good job that all I can say is superb work. The base looked great in the end and the mini was awesome too.

Thank you so much! Yeah I know that this was a bit of an offshoot from the normal content but the previous one really bothered me. I want to see it on the shelf and at least be reasonably happy, so might as well fix it! :)

Hey Peter! Thanks man! I should come by sometime. I would love to do some video on you when you do your crafting. Especially if there are any sparks from hammers hitting metal or metal being grinded.....OMFG sparks in 160 fps slow-motion....*drooool* :)

Great video. Best intro iv seen in a while, I will be getting a hot glue gun now for sure. Id love to have that guy sitting in my desk for sure!
@DevsDice
@DevsDice 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Yeah hot glue guns are awesome to have when making terrain. One tip though, make sure that you get one that is so called low temperature. Especially if you're going to use it on any type of foam or such. I think there might be glue guns that support multiple heat levels also? Anyways, yes it's an awesome thing to have handy! :)

amazing detail on this fire elemental, great to see what that gradient pattern could look like on one; i will definitely be emulating this style when i do mine! without the base though, it doesn't interest me, even though I'd be lying if it wasn't also amazing and impressive!

I will be honest that the initial painting is where I think of my painting skills, but seeing how you worked the new style in seems obvious once you did it. For the baking soda trick, does it need to be “fresh” or could I swap out the old box in the fridge and it still work ok? All in all, I am glad the feedback pushed you and by proxy showed me more tools I should try on my side as well. Great job and can’t wait for the next video!
@DevsDice
@DevsDice 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Regarding the baking soda, I was not sure. I bought one for terrain building but then I tested it at home with the one in the kitchen cupboard and it worked fine as well! So go on and "weld" some terrain my friend!
