Another great video Andy. I like that you leave in stuff like painting the windows red, not liking it and updating it on the spot. An awful lot of painting videos are edited to look like everything goes perfect the whole way through and that just isn't the way it works in real life.

Another great video, though quite a lot of what you thought were lights were probably viewing slits for looking out like on the doors etc.

I thought that same. But in the codex there glowing. So they are slights but light once.

@leeperry70682 жыл бұрын
I really dig this, but I do think you should do a little weathering on it, something to pick out all those black details that still look a little base primered, a slight edge highlighting pass on some of the red, etc. But yeah, looking great so far :D

Oh for sure. I love 100% agree.

Andy , just a question , could you do vehicles with contrast like space marines?
@MediocreHobbies2 жыл бұрын
Yep you can indeed. A good example is my black templars dreadnought.
@RadioactiveBear Жыл бұрын
I have a couple questions. 1: did you prime the canopies? 2: how did you attach said canopies, with super glue?
@MediocreHobbies Жыл бұрын
I did not prime them no. And I used PVA. I know it sounds strange but is very strong when it dries and no fogging up the window.

You don’t add some matte medium to your decals to make them less shiny and blend in more?
@MediocreHobbies2 жыл бұрын
I still need to give it a coat of contrast medium that takes the shine away. I was just pressed for time.

@Luis-bw8ub2 жыл бұрын
Nice! thanks for uploading such good content :) A couple questions: Don't you miss a slight wash for the hull? something like going over the edges with nuln oil, carroburg crimson or something like that. Also, how are you planning on doing the wheathering both for the tank and the troops? I was thinking about using AK grey dust enamel paint on the boots/wheels plus doing some sponge damage with black and metal but i'm not sure if it will work.
@MediocreHobbies2 жыл бұрын
Yes i need to get my hands on a larger selection of weathering powders for this and no I think it works with out the shade. But could be added if it’s your preference.

@KelRiever2 жыл бұрын
Love your speed paint videos. I have a thought, and for sure because you are running a channel I think people will follow, that Chaos Black primer is WAY too much money for what it does. Maybe, I'm guessing, that it's because you want some consistency with your Abaddon black? But it's no better a spray than a Krylon or other good home store primer that sells for like 1/6th the price. You're already being careful touching up with Abaddon black after your red coats....it's really, imo, not a significant amount of more time to go ahead and just Abaddon black the other parts. Really, save yourself some money and, actually, the quality is often better on primer.
@MediocreHobbies2 жыл бұрын
I understand that and agree you could just honesty go without it. It would be a brighter result but would work. As for using other primers im very nervous about doing that as they are not designed to be used for miniatures so may clog and ruin the model.
@huwtindall70962 жыл бұрын
blast some matt varnish on this bad boy so the decals/transfers don't shine so much. I really want to have a crack at the stippling technique now. I paint my 40K tanks how I paint my scale model tanks with an airbrush etc. Considering having a go at a stipple a WW2 vehicle as don't have any 40k tanks in the stash!
@MediocreHobbies2 жыл бұрын
It would work great for a WW2 vehicle! And yeah I sometimes do that with the decals, the vehicle just took a lot longer to paint that expected and the video was due out 😅
