I did something similar with my SR5 wheels. I used Rustoleum gloss black. So far it's holding up fine. It's amazing how much better stock wheels look after painting them! Mine is Nautical Blue as well.

i was thinking to get trd wheels and got lay off due to covid so i saved money by painting wheels , only spend $35 ,save money live better ,walmart philosophy 😄 , u did a great job 👍

Thanks for the corroboration and info on your color choice. I wanted to have my wheels powder coated glossy black, but I need to save money. So I will try that gloss black.

still holding its been more then year , i never clean wheels with any hard brush always used soft brush to clean the wheel , i will suggest you to go with Rustoleum spray paint , because it more better then what i used , i tested after few months on my friend vehicle , also i recommend better sanding , sanding make difference .

I have the same wheels and was curious what they would look like painted. Thanks for the demo. I Duplicolored my valances after trying plasticoat and having it fail. It's an amazing produce and I will follow your lead. Great job getting the paint into all those nooks and crannys.

Por15 paint sticks better than anything. Expensive paint for sure but it has been used to coat under carriage and frames for years by old hot rod builders. WARNING... use gloves when applying. 2 coats and done... No need to sand, prime, etc...

gloss or matte if its black , wheels will look good ,try not to rush , take your time , good sanding will give you good results , wish you the best .

its loader then all season tires but materiel is soft which help less noise , only 2db more then all seasonal , and because its stock size not big that's why these are not loader at all . i have a another video on my channel.

the time i painted my wheels, i was running stock shocks, these tires are stock size as well . after few months i did 2 inch iron man lift. i m running 265 , but u can go without lift up to 275 tire size

did you get all the lines out with sandpaper until they were smooth? can you use an orbital sander?

yes i messed it with poor sanding, this could be better , u can use metal sander which attaches to drill machine , honestly, if u want best of this , you need better sanding .

I have these wheels on my TRDOR and I am not a fan. I see that Toyota has a blacked out version of the wheels for the 2021 4Runners that I wish I could just swap out. I am considering powder coating the wheels, or biting the bullet and getting different wheels. Sometimes you wonder who runs the show at the 4Run dept at Toyota. They could make things more available via stock or upgrades versus pushing people to the buy things after market.

Toyota does sell some TRD wheels in black, gunmetal grey, and bronze. I think it is the Venture model that comes with darker wheels like the TRDOR wheels. I agree that the stock wheels are not good, it looks like something off of a Honda Pilot.
