This absolutely calls for a themed terrain; either an arcade or a disco.

Gotta throw in one of those spike ball cacti GW loved to use back in the 90s.
@andrewamann28212 жыл бұрын
@@freakishuproar1168 I suppose that would raise the question of how one might go about accomplishing that.... Liminal space photography doesn't really work with the god's eye view inherent to the game. It's kinda hard to rob a space of context when you can see everything else around it. Although, with some dollhouse tricks, you could incorporate some visually interesting folded or twisting spaces... Like a container next to a rubble pile that appears to be about 3 times longer inside than it is on the outer dimensions...

Indeed! I have some 30 unpainted Marines of this area (my old army that I never painted) and I will give them a proper grim dark Space Wolves look. They were a really fun kit and even though they look tiny next to modern true-size Primaris, they got a lot more character.

I’d also love to see this style applied to various kinds of vehicles where it’s implied this vaporwave look is a lighting effect and doesn’t completely cover the whole object. The affect I’m imagining is like you’re chatting with a cheerful friend at a party with cheerful music and they’re happily talking about say, doing harm to someone earlier in the week as if it’s light hearted and funny, almost to gaslight you into speechlessness on purpose.

Panel lining is so important. This Gundam guy loves it when other mini painters find out about it haha. Cross-hobby sharing ☺️
@Bluecho42 жыл бұрын
Terrain I'm imagining for these models would be reminiscent of the old vaporwave landscapes. Flat planes, black in color, with vibrant grid patterns stretching as far as the eye can see. Rocky outcroppings similarly dark, in early CGI blocky shapes, edge highlighted in bright colors. Palm trees. Cityscape buildings that shine in the darkness. And a stylized sun hanging above the horizon. Something to that effect.

Car cinema, back to the future like diner, or theme park style terrain would fit nicely

Using oil paint and a makeup sponge to remove all but the recessed areas could get you the same effect as the panel lining step without needing the subsequent cleanup.

Instead of using contrast paints to panel line, you should try giving enamels a shot. Just let them dry for ten minutes or so and then clean up with a damp brush dipped in white spirits. It's so easy and will cut out the dry brushing and touch up steps. The end result is fantastic, though.
