Such a huge undertaking, lights on light is so challenging! And, getting the element of light to appear in a watercolour as well. Excellent work. I 100% agree about the mixing neutrals, it gives more vibrance and interest to them, plus lends some cohesion with the rest of the painting. The end result is gorgeous!

Thanks Becca, I do love the challenge of a white subject and yes, mixing our own neutrals is much better and as you say, adds cohesion to a painting, they are my favourite colours to mix. 💗💗

@@karipaints6259 You do an excellent job both mixing and applying those paints!

Oh wow, so beautiful. Nice pigment control and I really love the neutral colour it created too, love it. And the negative painting very effective to the contrast. Turned out so beautifully, unlike any media, watercolour truly reflects your patience. For me it's a school day every day and it doesn't end. Thank you for sharing your process Kari 💜😊

Thank you so much Maria, keeping to a limited palette helped with the pigment control, too many colours on what appears to be a simple subject would be a bit confusing! Watercolour is so satisfying to paint with, I really enjoy it, oh and the learning never stops, there is always something new to find out about it! Thank you very much for watching and for your kind comment! 💗💗

Everyone else said it better - your talent and abilities are brilliant. I know your garden is so very important to you and yes, I promise it will eventually be Spring again. Perhaps painting a journal of snippets of the progress of your garden coming to life would be a lovely keepsake to chase away Winter cold. When daffodils push their heads against the mats of Fall leaves and raise it like a roof above their heads until the tiny green spears form a dense pattern of green. Your orchids are gorgeous ❤️. So glad you are sharing your paintings with us love, Kate xxx (hugs to D’arcy).

Oh it is so good to hear from you, Kate, I hope you are keeping warm and Tillie has agreed to stay inside. Yesterday was unseasonable mild outside and the sun even shone and my heart leapt thinking spring is just around the corner, but I need to calm down, winter isn't over yet and more cold weather is headed our way soon. You write so beautifully, Kate, I can see those little green spears in my head. It won't be long! Take care, I hope you are completely on the mend. Hugs from me and D'arcy! XX💗XX

Negative painting technique always fascinates me. In the start you'd think the colors on the subject are weak but in the end it suddenly pops ever so beautifully! I love the whole process and the end result. Well done mum. X

This is gorgeous. It was hard to tell what you were painting for a while, but then suddenly I could see the white leaves. thank you

Thank you very much, I know, it started off looking weird, but the dark background made the leaves appear. 💚💚

I have to go back and watch all of your videos here, to date! I am very interested in the mushrooms paintings!

Thank you very much, the older videos have already been shown on my main channel, but as they are watercolours, I thought I would add them here to my painting channel too. The mushrooms are great fun to cut out and use in art journals, I love doing them! 💗💗

Kari, that was bloody amazing! :) LOVE this so much! It's absolutely gorgeous. Once again, I am blown away by your talent. I was gifted a beautiful set of Daniel Smith watercolours at Christmas. They are so lovely. I have been out of work for the last 10 days with COVID. I've been pretty ill and haven't had much energy to do anything. I am feeling better and hoping for a negative test today. I've been re-watching a lot of your vids. I just marvel at the amount of projects you've done that have inspired me! I have tried so many new things because of you! I've filled a large Dylusions art journal over the last year and just today opened up a new one. I also bought the square one as I've enjoyed watching you working in yours. Aren't they great? Not so much for watercolour, but everything else! I have a watercolour art journal to reccommend: It's a Grumbacher In & Out Watercolour Journal. Comes in a 9x11 and a 5x7. The paper is totally fabulous and you can take the pages out and put them back! So cool! I'm so excited to try my new paints in them. Aren't new supplies at the start of the year so much fun? Thank you for everything. I'm going to love this channel as much as I adore your other one! Love and Bless xo

Thank you so much Lindsey, I am sorry you are still waiting for that negative result, it is time you got the all clear, you've been shut indoors for too long. Thanks so much for watching some of my old videos, that will help my channels get boosted by YTube. How lovely to get a set of Daniel Smith watercolours for Christmas, once you are recovered you can start getting to know them. Wow, you have finished your Dylusions art journal, isn't it great to start a new one? I love my square one, I hope you enjoy yours. I shall seek out that Grumbacher In and Out Watercolour Journal, it sounds perfect, thank you for telling me about it. I am crossing my fingers for that negative test result - love and bless to you! 💗💗xx
