Those came our great. I have done some painting on gym equipment. Light hit with a wire wheel create a great surface for rattle can paint to grab onto.

I've had good success using Plastidip primer before painting and then the glossifer on top.

Nice! I've never seen the primer in store before. Ill look into it. My stuff has lasted years no issues so not sure I need it.

Love your channel man, totally doung this as I ordered these. What kind of paint do you recommend on a powerblock stand? I really hate the white my gym is blue and black. Thanks for the video

Rustoleum spray paint works best on a stand. I only do the plastic dip paint on the stainless trim etc so i can change the color down the road easily. I use regular spray paint for anything else. Should turn out great!

Thanks for this video. I’ve been wanting to use plastidip on some metal fractional plates to have them match my other black rubber coated plates. Do you think the plastidip application method would more or less be the same? Shooting to cover everything except the inner part of the plate where it meets the bar. Have some 2” pipe I could place inside while spraying, so I’m hopeful it will work

Ive never had any luck with the "dip" style plasti dip. Too hard to work with.

@@Dhobby517 It's not meant for any surface that contacts. Would not work on plates at all. it's for trim pieces that don't get touched.

Would something like this work if I wanted to repaint my squat rack? It has a good powdercoat but its yellow. If not what method would you reccomend? Thanks love the content

To repaint an entire rack is quite simple. 1. Scuff with red scotchbright pad. 2. Clean with soap and water. 3. Buy spray paint cans from home depot or lowes in your choice of color 4. make sure it's 70* temp when you paint and paint a light coat than 2-3 heavier coats following the paint instructions. Do not use Plasti Dip as it's only for small accessories and stuff. not intended for contact surfaces.

When you prime black vs white first, which do you feel is closer to the red to what rep uses?

Ive yet to find a paint that matches REP's red but I haven't looked. Good question.

it will work anywhere you don't have any contact. It's main benefit to use plastic dip is the fact you can quickly remove it if you want a different color opposed to real paint. Spray paint holds up much better however or powder coast which is the best option.

Possibly. This was an odd project because it was a wear surface. Anything else plasti dip is the answer.
